You could 100% guarantee if this was 12 months ago and the defensive winger was Mansour the very same people saying it was an impossible tackle would be arguing it was a NSW Cup standard attempt and he should be dropped for the remainder of the season...

Not that it's the end of the world but it was a poor miss. Not sure how it can be argued otherwise.
Mansour would have rushed out on the centre and missed completely letting the winger go in unmarked and untouched. But last year Mansour was on the opposite end getting the ball with that space. Even as a poor finisher with no pace he scored those tries.

And i never bagged him out for those misses as usually he was in poor position to make decisions. I only ever had issue with the amount of opportunities he wasted through being slow and not very athletic refusing to contest kicks and being terrible under the high ball.

Deadset can't understand the debate around the Staines v JAC leaked tries.
That Titans try last night was as soft as they come - doubly so for a good defensive team like Melbourne.

Scrum 30m out, 20m in with a big open side there is no excuse. Especially when the ball movement was slow, and the centre gets it and pretty much comes to a complete stop. JAC was over 20m infield at the scrum, and all he was interested in doing was hanging back and letting them run. Bellamy would have been absolutely furious with that.

The try Staines leaked, him and Momirovski had to come in because Luai had lost his man. Not to mention it's within 10m from the goal line, center field, and a fast shift to the wing. Charlie did well IMO, but Tupou was good enough to time his stride so that his outside leg was pushing forward when Staines arms wrapped, and his inside leg goes back, and Charlie slips straight off the back.

I'd rather concede this type of try than the dummy half scoots, and other rubbish up the middle that we've let slip into our game recently. Don't hear anyone calling out JFH, Leota etc for their shit defence though...

Jfh makes 200m a game and is a workhorse..if he misses a tackle or two every now and than i can cop that cause hes leads that pack around even when the others are struggling..

Couldnt agree more. Even this year!!

If that was momo who missed that tackle hed cop even more of a hammering on here. Such double standards.

Some posters will protect some players no matter what yet jump on the 1st oppurtunity to bag another player for less or similiar.

I know Graham Annesley isn't exactly edge of the seat viewing, but he did this week put together a collage of 10 or so shoulder tackles this season that lacked force and were not charged, along with an explanation of exactly what the MRC is looking for. Of course none of them were high profile players and so they all slipped under the radar. Those with the big mouths need to grit their teeth and watch this, it comes out every Monday. You might even say it is essential research if you want to write media articles or talk on TV shows about who should and should not have been charged.
I agree with this, but we also know after the storm last weeks match has caused that this week some of those non-shoulder charges from previous weeks will be charged. Because this is the NRL.

On to tonights game.

Most important thing is nath doesnt get injured.
Thats really all i care about.

Interesting to see how critta goes on the wing.

And cant wait for TPJ to get injected.

Not to fussed on the result given we are still without a few.

I think it will be fairly even contest which souths will be really up for given the hammering earlier in the year.

We win in a close one hopefully.

I had us 13+ with Fish playing but without him it gets harder

Good news on the injury front
Latest video by club physio has May available next week possibly lenu and Too the last game if not then first semi final

Hence why I haven't been worried about our form. JFH and May into the side next week. Gives the team time to get set. Seems every week 1 or 2 are coming in which allows for better chemistry

You mean like the hammering Critter copped after Blake schooled him last year? Players only cop it for missing easy tackles. Or for missing them frequently. No double standards. They all cop it after shockers

Literally every player in the team has fallen off tackles and/or made poor defensive reads. Makes no sense to crucify someone for a rare conceded try. Only those who do it frequently or miss a very soft tackle.

Ie Brent Naden. We know he makes poor reads and his contact is often soft when he makes the right one. Critter copped it for soft tackles on Blake.

I have no issue with Momirovski defensively so if he missed a tackle I wouldn't crucify him for it. Only issue with him is being a ball hog. If he would draw and pass to set up his winger he would have alot of fans on here. But as it stands now he's limited attacking centre that kills his wingers opportunities effectively weakening 2 positions. Defensively he was good with Staines. As is Critter and Staines. Yet to see evidence Momirovski and Critter is a decent pairing though.

No way Momo plays when Toó is back. Even if Staines is still rested Naden on the wing outside Crichton is best
While i would be fine with that setup. Makes no sense not to have Naden on right wing now if that's the case. Let him get settled in.

I still think Staines will play come finals time. So easier to slide both wingers in

If south’s are going to put one over us I hope it’s tonight and not week 1 of the Semis.

Which ever team loses that one goes to the other side of the draw and will most likely meet a rested Melbourne Storm in week 3. Such a scenario I would prefer to avoid.
