round 23

what will happen with Mateo & Keating due back in round 23?

Mateo will go straight to lock with Lowrie most likley to the bench, But what about KK. I would be very hesitant to split up our halves at the moment and Kingston is going well from the bench. So does that mean KK would have to spend some time at Wenty?

What do you think?

They may play a bench with: Kinga, KK, Mannah and Wright and have Kinga or MK play some lock or KK will spend some time in wenty. There is no way in hell a 20 year old moved back into the NRL after an extended stay on the sideline.

i wouldn't change a winning team. Mateo on the bench for wright, dunno bout K.K

Wright has been replacing Moimoi in the frontrow so Mateo should not be replaced him, I would have Mateo in at lock playing 50 or so min with benny replacing him and Lowrie the unfortunatly lossing his spot (Mateo will do twice asmuch work as lowrie will in that 50 min first week back tbh).

KK either to wenty or the bench to replace Benny (KK to replace Robson after 25-30min and MK to play some backrow giving someone like Kinga more game time.)

KK to 7, Robbo to Wenty.

There, that wasn't so hard

And what exactly has Robbo done to be dropped. He's been the most consistant halfback we've had all year, primarily because he's been there the longest but he's done nothing that bad to be dropped.

Lowrie is playing too well to lose his spot at present. He is doing heaps of clean up work and making some great runs don't drop him.

What about KK thou, in his 3 matchs at halfback he has 2 try assist, 2 LB assists and 2 line breaks. He was in red hot form in a team that was doing very poorly. I would bring him back in slowly simply because of what he has shown this year in 3 game...

Mateo will be back in the team no questions asked... Lowrie has improved but he is not half the player Mateo is when Mateo is out of form. IMO these 2 were our best before injury and that should be recognised.

I have no prob with KK, I agree and believe he is our future halfback, but I wouldn't just put him straight back into halfback without a stint in Wenty. Robson has stepped up and done the job for us an he's the one who has formed a combo with Mortimor. Putting KK straight back in is a gamble I wouldn't take unless we were definitley not making the 8. But give Robson credit for getting us to where we are now, it's been a year and a half since I have heard Eels fans this excited, let's keep the team together to keep us excited.

I would probably give him a week in wenty too. With Mateo coming back to add some spark into the team aswell we may not need KK straight away but if we are serious about this year and making a run to the 8 then KK is nessesary to have any chance of beating the dragons.

He's been consistently average, done the job but nothing special. KK gets the spot on his far superior ability, it's pretty easy tbh

Wow, 2 or 3 weeks ago, everyone couldnt wait to drop Robbo, now?....

Id still bring KK back in for him in. Might reconsider if Robo takes one of those cheap contracts, if he has been offered one.

Ok I think things are getting off track. Surely Keating needs a game or 2 for Wenty before coming straight into first grade. I am under no illusion, yes KK is the better halfback and will no doubt be our halfback, but bringing him straight back into the team without a game in Wenty seems a bit too crazy to me considering our current halfback is doing a good job.

From what I am reading here, it seems some think Robson is having a shocker and unless he's replaced asap, we'll have no hope.

There`s the right answer, Bazal.

We will get smashed by the Sharks next week and everyone will be begging for Mateo and KK to walk back into the team!

These are Parra fans we are talking about!
