I'd like to see alamoti on the bench rather than eisenhuth who could get caught out for speed,or Schneider who would likely not see any minutes.Alamoti could play a backrow spot off the bench his power and leg speed could cause storm problems in the back of each half.
It's an option but it's too late in the season and I wouldn't be trying something like that for the first time against Melbourne

Its lower risk to try Alamoti in the forwards than it is to use Eisenhuth. Yes the experiment could be a dud. But could be a dud is better than definitely going to be a dud.

This is fair, consider my position changed.

We also don’t know how alomonti would handle the heavier defensive work load and you can be certain grant would test him all night. As others have said it’s now late in the season let’s get stability going .Keep the same players barring injuries .Eiso is not that bad and will not be there at full strength anyway

Paul Alamoti got dropped for a reason, we can only speculate on what the reason was, but the player who took his position has been outstanding. Thomas Jenkins has done extraordinary well and is now undroppable he is now a automatic selection in our top 13.

Suggestions we somehow manufacture a spot in the top 17 for Alamoti to play in the back row off the bench is just nonsense. It is not going to happen and nor should it.

He lost his spot for whatever reason and Jenkins has been outstanding. FairPlay to Tom.

Agree with this, and if there is an injury in the outside backs we have an amazing player to bring into the side.

At full strength we already need to not include one of Henry or Patea in the bench; no way an untried Paul Alamoti finds his way into that bench.

I personally think Tago should go to the pack as a 2nd rower with Alamoti in the centre position

Surely couldn’t be any worse than Schneider at 14

The right side defence has steadied very nicely and they're defending as a unit mostly. To'o is To'o and Tago is playing as well as he has in 2-3 years. He's making ok decisions, ok contact, he's running hard, getting over the advantage line and earning quick play the balls. Those guys aren't getting dropped.

So the left is the only option for Alamoti. My theory is they have adjusted the defensive structure on that side to contract more and protect Talagi a bit knowing everyone on that side has the speed and lateral movement to scramble and cover the sideline. Even Garner has been starting over Sorro the last few weeks. Alamoti doesn't really fit as well into that type of structure.
