That would make sense, although, do you think they might worry a little bit about the affect it would have on the attendance?

You would think it would be the opposite - big numbers for the Panthers game beamed in live for those not travelling and delayed telecast of Eels game. Vice versa in Brisbane. Crowd optimisation. If they start beaming live feed of the local Friday game then there will be reduced crowds....

Yes, exactly my point.
But look at it from Channel 9's point of view.
Brisbane people ain't going to want to wait until 9.30 to see the Broncos. That affects 9's advertising dollars if the ratings are down.
It's a double edged sword really.

Be interesting to see what happens.

Brisbane Broncos aren't going to want the game played either to impact the crowds. I think you'll find it may be a delayed telecast of both games into Sydney and Brisbane and maybe live out of the main areas.......

Which is perfect for those going to the game.
You get to see it live, then go home and watch the replay. :D

The best thing about the 11pm replay on Foxtel on Friday nights......

The delayed game on Saturday is always good as well.

It is an interesting point on the crowds. Maybe you are right and the reverse will happen and then they sell the 7:30 adverts cheeper and the 9:30 Ads at a Premium.

My point is that imo, Channel 9 will decide whatever makes them the most money.

I can agree to an extent, but who owns this game - a TV station??

Suity
wasn't there a big discussion of "how much good tv does for the game" already ... its a necessary evil

Indeed and as Suity said they will be in it for the Coin, we just have to make sure that services for the fans are worth the coin the pay.

Something I am going to have a Pow Wow about some time soon.

Exactly, Channel 9 aren't in it for the game, they are in it for themselves.
Which is why I hope they make any decision benefit both parties, because, without the game, what would they be showing.......a crappy movie??

Look forward to your Pow Wow MITS.
