Gutho - more like his usual self. Got the opportunistic run to set up the winning point and that kick smother was glorious! Good talk in huddle too.
Blake - it happens. Blinder 1st half to wishing we had one uninjured winger in 2nd. Would’ve cracked 100m if he caught one more kick so he was getting himself involved.
Penisini - given he’s guaranteed top 17, have to keep reminding that it’s his first day. The small things he does wrong are hopefully just some experience away from being tidied up. Still didn’t back down from Olam which was good.
Opacic - perfectly fine game. Made some good runs, made his tackles and was on the spot for his try and the chargedown recovery.
Simonsson - better but only because he has such a long way to get up to standard. Barely noticed he left the field.
Drown - f**ken brilliant! Nuff said.
Moses - the injury possibly played a factor in his lack of involvement. Typically superb kicking game but that defence was awful.
RCG - his typically awesome game for 75 minutes. 200 run metres but that miss on Bmith was really really poor.
Mahoney - f**k you, Reed. And under the circumstances, he’s just not allowed the luxury of decisions that don’t work out. Not passing to Moses at the death was the wrong play.
Junior - copped the mini-cannonball early from the unbinnable and could see he just wasn’t 100% but still ran for 200 and can’t remember him putting a foot wrong.
Lane - Second game of the season after he was dropped last week for Sean Lame. Good game without being spectacular, until that chargedown. Was I the only one who saw him just ambling up to it, yelling at the screen “run you f**ken lazy turd!”? Maybe doing it slowly was all part of the plan for his 9 foot frame? Big moment for a big man.
Papa - playing him on edge is definitely double…. edged…. Made some superb runs but his lack of laterality is being targeted by speedsters.
Nrown - a bunch of traditional 4th tackle settlers, but he was also using his feet at the line. Other than a couple of missed tackles, didn’t really do anything wrong.
Maka - f**ken cop that NAS you git!
Oregon - was almost unsighted if it wasn’t for his silly penalty to put more pressure on us. Was otherwise fine.
Greig - probably if it was a lower ranked team, he gets game time. Maybe should’ve got some for his long term development, but long term development chances are probably at a premium against Scums.
Stone - his brain explosion last week was at least borne of good intent, if ill-conceived. He owed his team, and even playing out of position he well and truly delivered. If that’s sadly his last game with us, it’s at least an exceptionally high note to go out on.
