quick enough?? that is very vague!! I said in comparison to centres, wingers require more speed or at least its more valuable. I gave two examples of guys who played more then 50% of their football in the centres and you have not given one example.

I get you have an opinion, why don't you back it up or at least give an example. There is not one winger in first grade in my opinion who is a slouch, probably Tautai and that would be it and his quality as a first grade winger is very questionable.

The real answer is: there is no typical winger. A winger can have many different strengths to their game. You can have an Eric Grothe junior, who was very fast, big and powerful. Could break through a tackle, make metres on the kick return or finish off a try from close range with strength and power - but couldn't put himself into a gap if you drew him a map. Or you could have the Luke Burt/Nathan Merit style of winger who lacks strength and power, would never break through a defence or barge over close out from the line - but could see an opening and make 60 metres with blinding pace (could also finish off a backline movement with that same pace). If the tendency these days is toward bigger more powerful wingers, it will change again. In the seventies we had big wingers only to see that all change with the advent of wingers like Steve Morris, Steve Gearin, Kerry Bousted, etc. and the trend for converted half-backs to play wing or fullback. It's all cyclical.

Yep. When the ruck is faster there is more broken play and so quicker, more elusive wingers (and backs in general) become more valuable. When the game slows down (due to rules and tactical trends) you face more set defensive lines and so you need more players capable of being effective against that kind of defence.

That's a bit like what he does. Normally a bit more subtle, talks around things to keep options open, and the possibility of interpreting either way. He could explain what he does better, but fluid enough to mean anything.

Just like my post here

Kenny Edwards was suspended for that game due to the incident on the Gold Coast. Don't think he has any visa issues.

Yeh, that's it. He didn't get picked and the club provided no details for a few days.....so people were trying to work out what the problem was.

If I said that then I'm sure you could quote me.

As I remember it I said there are more important things than speed, for wingers.

No I just don't feel the need to spell everything out for you idiots. Despite some of you repeatedly interpreting my posts however you like.
