Is anyone due back this week?? Assuming Lewis, Smith, Paulo, Burns, Waterhouse all don't make it back on the field anyone know what the chances are they will play??

I would have this team.

Coote
Walker/Earl Elford is too slow and old!!!
Jennings moved to the left side just 7 touches is terrible
Purtell
Gordon
Brad Clark Been outstanding for Windsor this year
Walsh
Petero
Kingston
Grant
Pritchard
Plum
Cooper

Masada seems to be back in decent form
McKendry
Bell
Penese

Puletua should retire instantly terrible old and slow

If Burns plays 5/8
If he is out Lewis or PAulo 5/8 if they are fit.
Smith lock for the whole game where he is useful.
Waterhouse to start if fit

From what I've read Burns is out for a while. Graham won't be back for a few weeks yet. In the meantime, or at least for this round...

1. Coote
2. Gordon
3. Jennings
4. Purtell
5. Elford
6. Lewis
7. Walsh
8. Civoniceva
9. Kingston
10. Grant
11. Waterhouse
12. Pritchard
13. Smith (Don't like it, but if he's fit it'll happen)

14. Bell
15. McKendry
16. Paulo
17. Blair (If he's fit)

Keep in mind I still haven't managed to catch a Panthers game this year. I'm reading that Paulo hasn't been playing well at all. Tighe is still suspended. And of course, whichever side Jennings is on we go to the opposite at all times.

Lewis is the easiest option to five eighth until Graham comes back. Put Blair on the bench and then if Smith or Lewis need a spell he can fill either position and gives us some options should we get another injury.

I really, really hope Waterhouse plays this week. He was one of our best last year and is important to our success.

Melbourne's going to be tough but they aren't firing yet and have had to grind out two wins. Hopefully we can build a lead and hold it rather than burn out like we have the last two weeks.

That's what I pick Besides Elford. However

Lewis - Concussion
Waterhouse, Smith - Late withdrawals before the game
Paulo - Had to ice his quad during the 2nd 1/2

So they all might not play. Fingers crossed they play but I am trying to find out.

As for the lead so many teams so far this year has done it I don't know why it's really weird

How long is Burns out for you think?

I have a contact in the training staff bout 3 weeks. Paulo, Lewis, Smith, Waterhouse all expected to play.

So my team would now be:

Coote
Gordon
Jennings
Purtell
Walker/Earl
Lewis
Walsh
Petero
Kingston
Grant
Pritchard
Watehouse
Smith - He has no impact but he's reasonable at starting lock

Bell
Paulo
McKendry
Masada - Need to fill in at 5/8 if Lewis struggles

Cooper
Plum on standby just incase

Thanks mate.
Any new info on Laurie, Sammut, Blair, Graham?

My team for this weekend would be:

1. Coote
2. Gordon
3. Jennings
4. Blair
5. Purtell
6. Lewis
7. Walsh
8. Grant
9. Kingston
10. Civoniceva
11. Waterhouse
12. Pritchard
13. Paulo
Bench:
14. Iosefa

Reserves:
18. Elford - if Blair isn't fit, he goes to the wing with Purtell back in the centres. I would pick Walker but I haven't seen him play and I don't want too many changes in one week.

Masada Iosefa??

Kingstons been good I'd like to see him play the full 80. Does this mean that at some stage Lewis will go to lock and Masada/Kingston to 6??

Injures strike us again but in saying that the Storm back looks pretty thin too. Will be an interesting game, if Waterhouse and Lewis play I wouldnt rule us out.

I'm sure he would carve up if we could pass him the ball without him having to wait for it to bounce to him, dive forward to catch it or turn around and chase it. All we need is one of our halves to do what Brett Finch does at the Storm. Get a quality pass to Michael Jennings out wide and let him do the rest. Maybe he could even throw the occassional cut out pass to Michael Gordon and have Jennings back him up waiting for a pass or offload.

Either way... we need to get the ball out to our backs. Not make them come in field looking for it.

I'm sure he misses Wade Graham, who at least gave his backs early ball...

Not having Waterhouse also wouldn't help imagine Jennings on the end of his ofloads. Graham is the teams crispest passer his vision is outstanding also and throws nice flat passes

I'm hoping he comes back into the team at halfback and is given the right side of the field to work with. Travis Burns can work with the left.

Given he has the best passing game at the club, it would be crazy not to have him working with Jennings and Gordon. He could easily throw cut out passes to either player when he sees an opportunity.

Unfortunately I think Matt Elliott will choose between Burns and Graham, and not try both at once.

I'm with you Abpanther. I see Graham and Walsh as our long term half combination.
if he stops getting injured of course he will be long term half hes only twenty this year but it still worries me how many games hes had and how many chances hes had and still hasnt played a blinder yet he reminds me of ashley harrison good player not a great player maybe a positional change might be the tonic.....
