Round 4 - Titans

What nonsense. Flanagan has had more than enough time to turn the team around, he hasn't done it, in fact he has made us worse than when he arrived here.

We are staring the barrel of a record 9 consecutive defeats and people like you are still pedalling there are no better coaches line!

Flanagan will be sacked, you can then choose to either give the next coach a fair crack or find a new team to support, I hope you choose the latter.
I’m 62 and don’t think I’ve ever seen 9 consecutive defeats, and I suspect it will be a few more than that before we come up with a win.

Im 69 and have never seen this many losses in a row. However its not the number that worries me as much as how we lost. Against Parra we just didn’t seem to have a clue how to win and against the Titans we were just rabble again without a clue on how to win or what to even do. We seem leaderless and without players who have a clue on how to play to get a win. We supposedly bought experienced players to guide the younger ones but its not happening. If only we had a Sam Walker who can do it on his own, but we dont. I dont know what our coaches are teaching but it certainly isn’t how to win. Unless theres a radical change the losses will continue. Removing our 3 “experienced “ players would be a good start

True, I understand why Shane recruited experience players and maybe at training they set some standards but when the game is there to be won they are not pulling any strings, Gutho has actually been bad, no threat in attack, missing tackles at the back and dropping balls.
Kyle also is not a half or dominant, really know one takes control of the game.

The worst part is that Kyle as bad as he is sets up probably 25% of our tries really showing how bad the rest are. Without him we’d be losing by even more although in saying that if we had a good 1/2 , 5/8 combination we’d win a hell of a lot more

25% of not enough tries…

25%?
Wow that's generous mate! Kyle has had 1 try assist in 4 games, pretty sure we've scored more than 4 tries!

Replace Kyle with anyone at five eighth and they would produce something very similar, it wouldn't be hard.

Luciano though too big seriously has better ball skills, man can throw a no look pass.
Kyle is a no frills conservative utility. no instinct to play what's in front of him or create something. His father knows he's not a half why play him there and heap pressure on both.

I have never seen Saints win a spoon but it looks like I finally will happen unfortunately. This game has really confirmed how bad they are. The Titans didn't even play well to win and they had a couple of tries ruled out so could have won by more. That is what makes it worse. Luciano and Sua made no line breaks and this youngster from the Titans (Hau) makes 2 and scores 2 tries. He did what Luc and Su'a tried to do all game. Lawrie comes on and gives them a six again and penalty in the back end of the game due to sheer laziness. He gave the titans the extra boost they needed. They got points from it to win the game in the end. That in itself is reason for him to be in NSW Cup for the rest of the season. He just does not cut it in the NRL. I don't get why Atkinson cannot be moved to 5/8 seeing that is his spot? Surely Kyle can try 7 for 1 game. Is that too much to ask? Atkinson is our best of the halves yet does not play his preferred spot. Now there is LKT in the squad this week who will play 6 and Atko still won't be moved there.

There is nothing to lose so they should play all their youngsters and let the older experienced guys like Gutho and Val play reserve grade for a game or 2, to get a kick up the backside that they deserve. Let them fight for their spot. With any luck they may ask for a release. They are proving to be washed up which is why they were let go. Yeah let go by others and yet hailed as marquee players for Saints, that in itself shows how bad Saints are.

Tannah Boyd and Sandon Smith could have been brought to the club. Tannah Boyd is killing it and Sandon had a great game against the Dogs with no Brown or Ponga. Atko with one of these guys would have been a dynamic halves combo. Savala could have been tempted as well as they are backups to their current clubs. His kicking suits Flanno's boring bomb and hope on the last. It's clear the halves were not chased to cater for the coach's selections. Sexton literally fell on our lap last year and they showed no interest. Even he would have been a better fit than what they have now.

I try to be positive but that was a humiliation even by our standards.

The people that got us in this mess over 15 years are not qualified and need to go.

There is no way out unless people in many key leadership positions get the chop.

Of course, these people are safe, that is the problem and will contunue to block our chances of revival for years to come.

Flanno has to go but my fear is we will then see the Young family dynasty recommence, another problem that has existed for decades.

As for players, our 3 elder statesman we recruited have been horrible as a group, Gutho in particular.

Respect to our loyal supporters, they deserve so much better but I can't see any relief for them.
The problem is the merger when you trace it back. It’s not been managed well

Someone speaking the truth eh the f$&kheads on here all got their wish . How good were they with out him completely f$&king lost . Buchanan wouldn’t be Suli’s bootlaces can not I repeat can not pass the ball . LKT tackled him instead of the Titan that scored the winning try . One complete f?!khead on here said I hope we lose what a germ . I wonder how many of the grub haters of our club on here were spitters at the Lance Thompson memorial game, I bet there’s some on here eh. Anyone who wishes our players harm or to lose is a f$&king germ . But ya got ya wish and they were absolutely spectacular once Flanagan went eh you cum dunts , I bet half of ya never even tied on boots now f$&k off and support someone else you absolute grubs. And yes our normal 17 isn’t the best but it’s better than that . The kids might get there eventually but not yet . I don’t think Buchanan can pass the ball I really don’t.
Well said. The problem isn’t the coaches choice of who is in or out.

the coach knows just a wee bit more then forum posters regarding footy

the problem has been and is recruitment
