Yes mate I agree to a point re the weather, but there was a few occasions a grubber would have tested their handling
for me the only thing that would have made the win even better is if had been the first round of the season. ps how are you doing mate.

Just watched it and all I can say is that one was for all the true believers.
The crowd's passion over the effects mic was f**king awesome to hear and it was a rare day that we all truly get to enjoy.
I love it whenever we beat the Storm and will savour it for the whole season.
Melbourne were below par, but that's because they're wankers.
Yesterday was a case of pride vs arrogance, and pride won the day.

Crowd atmosphere at Jubilee was tremendous. A bit wet, but that didn't dampen the spirits. Ref copped heaps too. The usual attempt from the ground announcer to get behind the "Dragons" was met with chants of "Saint George".
At one point in the second half, you could see the players really getting behind each other and the crowd very much came into the game, from that point on we were going to be hard to beat.

I've just watched the game again and OMG, Gough was putrid against us. In the space of 1 min, he missed a knock on from Coates when Guthos tried to pass the ball to Sloan over the top of Coates. He then penalised Luciano for jack shxt, then Sia for wrestling the neck (storm do this EVERY tackle, then penalised JDB when King dropped the ball cold. This was followed by penalty for a grapple on Blore (Guthos & Tupoloti were claiming the exact same thing and got nothing), this was followed by a series of 6 agains that I'm still trying to understand why.
Oh..... and if we had any other 7 in that first 20 mins, we would have been down 18 points. Ilias was a beast with his online defence.

Agree here , just on Illias he did ok yesterday made some good tackles on the line and was a good link to our sweeping plays , but I have yet seen him take on the line ........ Really don't know if he has any speed , I guess he is slowly finding his way after a long lay off ......

Only downside to the win is what looks like a possible fracture of the cheek or jaw for Hamish Stewart.
Off for scans today.
Estimated to be out 3/6 weeks if no surgery is required.
With surgery, could be a few months.
Yes bloody shame for the young man just when he was hitting his straps....lets hope his diagnosis is not to bad...unfortunately a fractured jaw can knock your confidence about

One thing I’ve noticed, I can’t remember Lachlan Ilias run the ball at all.
I realise he is coming back from a bad injury, and maybe I’m old school, but your halves have to run the ball every so often. Anyway, that’s an area that will improve his game and the team once he feels confident to reintroduce that..
His kicking game improved 100% in the second half. More height, good hang time, targetted better and shallower, allowing the chasers to apply more pressure to the catchers &/or kick returners.
