I love the comradery as well. Everyone runs in to celebrate and it looks like a team that enjoy playing together.
I said it in another post but the influence Gutho has had on the team has been outstanding. He's constantly talking and directing, he's questioning the refs all the time, he's encouraging players and supportive when mistakes are made. We've finally got a captain that feels like a captain. Love him celebrating to the crowd when we got the first try and I love the raw emotion he showed at the end of the game.
It's funny to watch Cook, Gutho, Holmes and now Klemmer run around with the red V on. I feel like we've got the makings of something good here. Might be a bumpy year until we all click, but the fact they are all working for each other and look like a single unit gives me some confidence. I think we are still short a couple of quality players but I definitely believe we're on the right track.
Why does it seem we get roasted more than other teams. 3 weeks ...fxck me. Seems excessive for a no intent indiscretion. There is no way Gulers intention is to put the attacker into this position. The attacker usually puts himself in this position.
This that merkin Luke Patten screwing us again. He fxcking hates us.
I’d like to say I was encouraged by Tyrell Sloan yesterday. He made a couple of mistakes but he also played a lot tougher than previous seasons.
I was disappointed when they called him back on the break when Tui put his foot on the touchline. (I sit above the 10m line in the stand, and I thought he stayed in watching live)
He did seem to particularly hone in on us. Conversely though, Kasey Badger had good game, we often seem to not get the rub of the green with her but not yesterdayI've just watched the game again and OMG, Gough was putrid against us. In the space of 1 min, he missed a knock on from Coates when Guthos tried to pass the ball to Sloan over the top of Coates. He then penalised Luciano for jack shxt, then Sia for wrestling the neck (storm do this EVERY tackle, then penalised JDB when King dropped the ball cold. This was followed by penalty for a grapple on Blore (Guthos & Tupoloti were claiming the exact same thing and got nothing), this was followed by a series of 6 agains that I'm still trying to understand why.
Oh..... and if we had any other 7 in that first 20 mins, we would have been down 18 points. Ilias was a beast with his online defence.
Yep me toWe never got this with Sour Face ....... 7 years of misery thank the F**K he's gone .........
Sloan is now the one that fans like to blame for any loss.Agree on both counts.
Re Sloane, he won't make the metres a big body does coming out of our end, but he has smartened his game up. Looks much more solid. Good on the kid for taking up the challenge.
The game has become too athletic for him. He doesn't lift his legs and has the balance of a ten pin bowling pin.Worth mentioning that Klemmer did his job very well against the Storm. Easily lost on a day where we had a momentous victory and some young blokes starred and regular old-hands really stood up.
David just used his big frame to make the defenders work, nothing frilly but exactly what we needed from him. I was poo-pooing his signature, but now see we are going to need him this year to do that again several times over.
Sad to think big Klem would be on a fraction of salary of Blake Lawrie, who we can't even justify picking when we are in a desperate need! One of our best a couple seasons back. What a fall from grace. I'm guessing he is probably sad his buddy Zac left and cant be bothered to aim up.
He brings what a true prop needs to be..... Strong, powerful, intimidating, good leg drive, no getting pushed backed, QUICK PLAY THE BALLS, fit and energetic, offload, excellent tackle efficiency, hates losing and will back his mates. Leader.Worth mentioning that Klemmer did his job very well against the Storm. Easily lost on a day where we had a momentous victory and some young blokes starred and regular old-hands really stood up.

So, you’re quite personally invested as a supporter, huh?Folks, that was TENSE.
Reminded me of when my wife went into labour with my first kid. Just white knuckle anxiety interspersed with moments of utter bewilderment ending in pure joy, with lots of strange mess everywhere and me punching the air in triumph
Even Steve Martin thinks I've gone grey too soon. Geez they did some dumb things in this game... but they did some absolutely heroic things as well. Those lovable bastardsSo, you’re quite personally invested as a supporter, huh?
Did Klemmer come back on? Or did Flanno just give him the first 25 mins?Worth mentioning that Klemmer did his job very well against the Storm. Easily lost on a day where we had a momentous victory and some young blokes starred and regular old-hands really stood up.

Nah didn't come back. Flanno taking a softly softly approach since it was Klemmer's first game but I think he can safely ramp it up from next week with Guler gone. He's already better than GulerDid Klemmer come back on? Or did Flanno just give him the first 25 mins?
I was there but find it hard to keep up with interchanges live at the ground.
