I think Burton will regret leaving so early, if he extended for a year or two he would find his way into our side somewhere imo and compete for premierships for a couple years and then hopefully get a big offer from a better club than the dogs.

If he was here longer I could see him going to fullback like people are saying in the Tom Turbo style.

I think he’d develop into a rep player in about 9 positions. He could play 1-7 and excel at them all imo and with a little bit of size he could be a gun edge forward or lock imo.

Yeah it's stupid just how good he is. We could definitely argue for him to play across any position bar prop and no one would be particularly in the wrong.

Look at the discussion with @Girds89 we went around in circles for a while but the with the talent available we would all likely end up correct to varying degrees. I don't think we've had too many Panthers teams this good. We even let a few go this year. It's insane.

Yep he’s just a complete footy player, given time he’d work out most positions. I understand his reasons for leaving but geez I don’t think he’s going to enjoy the dogs next year like he’s enjoying playing for us atm

They forgot to recruit some genuine forwards. He's in for a rude shock next year. Hetherington and Thompson can't carry a team. Even ours need some good bench support from Eisenhuth and Lenui

I think he will get to big within a season or 2 to be fb.

I'd give him a go there atm but he's future lies initially in the halves before an eventual switch to the backrow or lock.

It's a real shame he won't become the lock here honestly.

No Capewell next year. Perfect spot for him right there

Gee I've been impressed with Moses Leota. Great leg speed and drive for a big man, so important with the new rule changes too. Also has a good and elusive step on him too. Leota is appearing to make the front row number his own with Fish.
Playing plenty of minutes too. I know it's early in the season, but Moses appears to be taking his new role in his hands and making the most of it.
Taking the place of Zane without missing a beat.
Just like I hoped.

I love big moses. One of my favourites. Has been good without being fantastic.

Last night was definitely he's best game yet starting.

I thought against the storm he struggled and went a bit Mia. Hopefully he learns from it. Think he only had 35ish meters last week which isn't good enough. If he wants to get to another level (origin standard) it's those kind of games where he needs to go up a level.

I think he can get there and reach that next level.

If I was ivan and co I would be putting the challenge to him every week to try match fish for runs/meters/tackles.

Andrew Johns made an interesting point Penrith only has one current or previous international(Fish) from a Tier 1 Rugby League nation in their side.

If Australia had of played last year I’m fairly certain Cleary would’ve at least been in the squad. Yeo is close as well, and Apisai is of that standard. (But he’ll never play tier 1)

I think Yeo is finally getting recognition for how good he is, I think he’d be picked now. Every week the commentary is talking him up quite a lot. Cleary also, neither of these guys have been picked but they are amongst the best in their positions from any country no doubt. You can throw Fish, Kikau and Api in with that group also tbh. All top three players in their positions. Jarome just has to keep playing the way he is and we can probably throw him in there as well.

I don't think Moses Leoata could even make the Somoa 17 last time they played. He played a bit in and out of the team during the WC.

Say Grant goes down injured and Cook needs surgery at the end of the year. Api would be the hooker next up for Australia. He's clearly the next best.

Grant has done f**k all yet. He is hardly a lock for the Australian team.
That Tigers team was dogshit on paper and they challenged us last when we were playing well last year. The great players make players around them look better than they are and that's what Grant did before got rushed back from injury. I didn't say he was a lock right now, I was saying he's up there as a rep option after Cook. His nouce at hooker is fantastic if you see what he's doing to the defence with his pass selection.

If you have like a minute you can see an example of it here.
Barring a terrible injury it's inevitable for him to surpass Cook eventually in rep calculations.

Grant is a good player no doubt. But I'll reserve judgement until he has played a few more games.

I don't get the massive circle jerk surrounding him tbh. Laurie is making about the same difference to the Tigers this year as Harry did last year. An excellent player in team of plod.

I can see the hype with Grant, he is a superstar talent imo. I agree that he will be the Aus hooker sooner rather than later.
