WTF was that? Hunt comes in 3mins before Half-Time, Broncos score 3 rapid fire tries..15mins later I notice he's off and our attack falls to sh*t again.

Good effort by Thaiday this week though...could see he was trying.

Yeah Macca wasn't to flash tonight. Especially towards the end his poor serviceput pressureon Prince and Wallace

Better performance but our last tackle options in the last 10 were diabolical.

Reed finally passes the ball and look what happens, pity Hoffman got injured. What's with our try scorers getting hurt??

Definitely some positives but can't see us winning anytime soon with Titans and Cowboys coming up.

So how should I take that, guys? Happy? Sad? Disappointed? Hopeful? Or is Griffin going to eat shit and leave Hunt on the bench again. He was triple the Playmaker that Wallace is tonight. Prince had some good and some bad moments so he's a big "meh".

What the f**k has possessed Jack Reed? He's actually passing to his outside man?? REALLY? And look what happens when he does. We make a mockery of the Storms Right side edge.

Depending on how Hoffman shapes up after that injury, we have the side we should go with for the rest of the year with Dugan at FB if/when we snag him. The only thing that has to happen is Griffin waking up to Ben Hunts potential. AND FOR f**k SAKE, DROP WALLACE LIKE A BAD COLD.

Was a much improved performance. Still plenty of room for improvement though, we aren't going to be scoring 5 tries in the one corner most weeks.

Since I usually comment on how bad we come out at half time, I have to say it was refreshing to see a professional team come out of the sheds.

Our forwards really stood up. Hope they can back it up next week. Hoffman really finished well on the wing. If a few calls went out way we could have won the game. Impressive performance overall.

Although I'm disappointed with the loss, I think the way we fought back into the game was great.
Thaiday and Hannant provided good go forward, and I was even really impressed with Scott Anderson. He made some great charges.

Kahu was very disappointing in defence and caught out of position. Gillett also made a very bad read that led to a try.

Reed needs to keep passing the ball!

If we end up snagging bogan, I think when McCullough comes off, Hunt should go into the halves with Wallace going to hooker. (Hook is never going to drop Wallace).

now think of what could have been if we had Hodges, Yow Yeh and Copely on the field....damn injuries. still early days and with Hodges due back and the possibility of Dug an at the back and suddenly we will really give the comp a shake.

Thaiday's best game in a long time.

Impressed with the effort to come back, but we got beaten by clearly the best team in the comp.

Lots to like tonight.

Hoffman is going great at left wing, much better than fullback.

Norman is chiming into the backline nicely when required.

I agree with a previous poster about Hunt. He comes on and our attack goes up a gear, why on earth did Hook take him from the field?

Thaiday played his heart out but he's not a prop. He just doesn't have the experience. When he was hung onto by his opposing prop in the scrum in the first half that led to a try that was just school boy stuff. Sam if your reading this some advice from an old prop. If that happens again you bring your forearm down hard on his wrist to release his grip and your away. Thaiday is obviously a second rower filling in at prop and it shows. With this in mind I think we need McGuire back asap.

As for Wallace by the end of the game he looked confused as to what option to take at the end of each set. I believe having him and Prince on the field at the same time isn't working. You need one halfback calling the shots not two.

Even though we lost, the second half effort was the best I have seen so far this year.

Dunamis Lui with another Iron Man effort, 15m 5 tackles, Anderson impressed me tonight. Prince almost had me crushing my glass in my hand when he ran the ball on the last 40m out 6 behind..

Hoffman was great, and I know he's probably trying to prove he has what it takes to be fullback..but damn I want to keep him on the wing now, if Reed remembers how to pass from now on, I'll stop saying he should be dropped every chance I get.

Yep Hoffman has shown himself to be a great winger, and he needs to stay there. A million times better than copley.

Really inspiring effort from the Broncos tonight. Play like that every week and we will win more games than we lose.

Thaiday played his best game in a very very long time and showed some great leadership. I like how he got in the refs face and showed a lot of passion, it looked like the game meant something to him. He needs to do this every week now, it can't be a once off. Hannant is getting back to his more usual self. Reed also played a bit more like his older self.

Geez if we had Hodges out there I think we would have probably won. Thought at the end of the game Cronk didn't give enough credit to the Broncos and basically just crapped on how the coach won't be happy with them etc etc.

I think one of the big positives out the game was Glenn's try. That was one of the most perfectly executed organised attacking plays I have seen from the Broncs in a long time. It just shows if we get our structure and execution right we don't need the real flashy players to score points.

3. Thaiday
2. Hoffman
1. Hannant

Losing always sucks, but that's the closest a loss can feel like a win for me.

f**k me looks like Hoffman will be out with an achilles strain and Stagg with medial ligament. We really need all hands on deck to give ourselves a good chance of winning each week. We haven't seemed to have much luck with injury for many seasons now :x

The biggest difference tonight compared to say last week was how the forwards rolled over the advantage line. Thaiday honestly played the best game I've seen from him in 3 years and I felt absolutely gutted for him when he dropped that ball - the guy didn't deserve that. He worked really well in tandem with Hunt, Hannant, Parker and even Sanderson!

I don't think we really changed our attack all that much. We've been trying to go wide all season, this was just the first time we had momentum and space to use. Unfortunately, we still have too many coach killing mistakes in us and we came up against very good opposition. No shame, but it still hurts none the less.

What did ya'll make of Kahu on debut? I thought he started terribly but came up with a couple of nice plays (in defence) to at least get a pass mark. Hopefully he can build on it, just happy he could finally make his first grade debut, he worked so hard to make it.

3. Sam Thaiday
2. Ben Hannant
1. Ben Hunt

Honorable mentions: Norman, Hoffman, Reed, Glenn, Parker

I thought Macca was off again this week. On BHQ they're blaming him for those last couple of dud plays from our halves but I think that's a tad harsh. I just think he was totally upstaged from Hunt who looked completely switched on.

Thought Kahu had a typical rookies game. Started off badly but worked his way into the game. Let's put it this way, I'd like to see more of him (on the footy field that is ;-))

Only watched highlights so far, but far out I can't believe we nosed in front at 65!

Storm really have the kicking/passing game to create bs tries.

Injuries are really holding us back now.

My jaw dropped at Reed passing. Seems like hodges had a word with him..

What I was most disappointed with last night was Billy Slater's last try (the bomb). I can't believe there wasn't a player there to contest him... Norman came in but only after slater had caught the ball. I think there was 4-5 Broncos jogging for that bomb (gillett was the worst offender).

That was the momentum killer.

Not much bad about the performance really. Wallace, Prince and Thaiday came up with a mistake each at the death, but other than that, I thought we were really good tonight, and if we play like that each week, we beat 95% of the opposition in this comp.

I agree with BigPete, our forwards really got some great yardage last night, and it was primarily on the back of Ben Hunt. When he came on, he was getting the ball out of dummy half and over the advantage line every tackle, then providing his forwards with good ball and we were making 10-12m each tackle. When Hunt came off in the second half, you could really see that ruck speed slow down and the meters dried up. Usually it's the other way round, but last night Hunt was close to our best. He really needs to be used better. Other clubs must be looking at him and licking their lips.

Reed had his best game in 2 seasons, and its because he actually passed the ball. Hopefully he's figured out he doesn't have to try and do everything himself. The fact he passed early meant he could get the ball back on that great pass from Hoffmann later in the game which gave Reed the try.

Speaking of Hoffmann, the poor kid is injured again. Anyone know how bad it is? He was one of our best last night.

The tries we conceded were just Melbourne brilliance. You can't defend against it.

What I really want to know is, where was this Brisbane team last week? We can't play like that one week, then turn up and play like we did against the Roosters last week the next.

3. Hunt
2. Thaiday
1. Hoffmann

Mentions - Hannant, Reed, Anderson.
