Round Five Match Moved to Sunday

The South Sydney Rabbitohs' round five match up against the Newcastle Knights has been shifted to Sunday 15 April at Bluetongue Stadium at 2pm, allowing the Rabbitohs' Kiwi contingent to participate in the big game.
The Rabbitohs vs Knights match has swapped with the Raiders vs Roosters game, which will now be played on the Monday night.
An international rule not allowing the Rabbitohs' Test representative players to play within five days of a Test match has been avoided with the shift in the game time.
The NRL has made a number of other changes to the draw as well, including:
Round Three - both Friday night games (Broncos v Panthers and Eels v Wests Tigers) will move to an 8.00pm kick off.
Round Three - move of the Storm v Warriors match to Sunday April 1 at 12noon has been confirmed (the match was previously scheduled for Saturday evening on March 31).
The new Round Five draw will be:
Sunday 15 April
Rabbitohs v Knights Bluetongue Stadium 2.00pm, Fox Sports
Monday 16 April
Raiders v Roosters Canberra Stadium 7.00pm, Fox Sports

Awww poor bunnies.
See souths fans, this is what happens when you enter the player market and sign stars...sometimes they will not be available.
But oh no....the NRL cant have that and they intervene.
What a joke.

Do I need to draw reference to the fact you had a major sporting fixture moved because it "didn't suit your teams regime"?

At least this move is because an international law of the game.

Who are all these South's Internationals??? Apart from Asotasi and Kidwell, who else will be there?

The Roosters have Soliola, Topou and Minichiello who may be picked.. At worst, just Soliola but the other 2 are a chance. Who is running the league?

WTF?
That comparrison is a joke and 3/4 Timmmmmmmmmmmmmmmah.
That is a nuffy game...not an premiership game.
I dont recall Stg, easts, Broncos, Dogs, or Storm having games moved because they would have players missing.

I didn't realise there was an International law that precluded 'Souths' from playing there match on a Monday night.

Add Fa'alogo (cert) and very possibly Jeremy Smith. If Marshall gets injured (I hope he doesn't) Smith would be a cert as well.

I for one am glad that the NRL are finally starting to take notice of the International Rules governing player availability.

Whilst most people are aware that SOO is a huge money spinner it is only in recent times the International scene has given a glimpse of its pulling power with large crowds around the country at recent games.

The more the NRL takes the RLIF laws seriously and enforces correct timings for matches, player releases and shows they are serious about Intl. RL the more money will pour into the game and the more it will develop.

RL offers an International Level, something our main competitor doesn't. The NRL have just taken the first baby step towards recognising laws and rules they should've followed long ago.

In saying this I hate south sydney. I hate the roosters too.

I don't understand the 12pm kick off for the storm...was that a typo?

Wierd.

Nope.

I can only assume OP is double booked on the Saturday night.

*EDIT* - The Rod Laver AND Vodafone Arenas both in use in the same area on the night of the 31st... I suppose I can understand why they wouldn't want a third event.
