I have an idea. We give you Dylan for the rest of the year in exchange for Jesse Mclean. This is a win win for both clubs. Gives you a 5/8 untill Blaize is ready in 2026 a d gives us a winger which we desperately need.

You would be better off doing a player swap early with the Knights.

BRIAN TO’O OUT FOR A MONTH

The Panthers may be getting Nathan Cleary back this week, but the four-time defending premiers won’t have workhorse winger Brian To’o for up to a month after he aggravated the hamstring injury that ruled him out of their Las Vegas opener.

To’o missed Penrith’s first-up win over the Sharks and is now set to miss another few weeks after he came off late during Penrith’s loss to Souths.

It’s a big blow for a team that has relied on his yardage coming out of trouble, although they should get fullback Dylan Edwards (groin) and Cleary (concussion protocols) back for the game against North Queensland after they both trained on Monday.

“Nathan will be back, but ‘Bizza’ (To’o) won’t be.

“Hopefully Dyl will be,” Ivan Cleary said.

“He (To’o) will be out for a few weeks.”

I don't think Bizza's hammy has been right all year.

He needs to get it sorted and rehabed properly. Better a month now, then a month later in the year.

Bizza needs a rest so does Yeo, Martin, Edwards, maybe Leota. Too many games over the past few years with finals and rep football. Trouble is the season just started. For them, injuries are a double edged sword. Can’t play but get a rest.

Losing so many players over the past few years isn’t just about quality it’s about cohesion, character and camaraderie.

The blokes we lost brought a lot of character to the team. They were great players but great team members and leaders in their own right. Luai was the chief energy officer on and off the field. You don’t replace characters like that overnight. The replacements might step up and gel soon but the blokes who played all the grand finals together had a special bond that may be hard to replace. Maybe this is part of our current situation?

For me it is motivation. It is four weeks into the season and a long way from the bright lights of September.

We beat a top 4 side well in Vegas in a big occasion. We played well against the Premiership favourites and lost on their home patch.

Two awful performances against teams that were struggling and were given little chance by the bookies/experts. We played without enthusiasm and they stood up. We got well beaten.

Is there a switch to flick? Can’t guarantee, but I am confident. Sorry to sound like a broken record, but same team for me till Magic Round.

The most ridiculous part of it is that we all know it will be a plague on the experience for a few weeks or months, but will (rightly) be shelved for big games and/or finals.

I have a feeling this rule change is going to be an absolute disaster.

If you're into betting then keep your eye on the overs market. This will guarantee more tries in pretty much every game of football you watch.
