Round 5 vs the Raiders

The errors and lack of urgency is what I don't like. He'd be a very solid fill in without that. I do think it's a matter of when not if though. He'll have a big moment in a game some times that'll give him confidence and kick on I'm sure. I have a lot of faith in his future. Potentially our highest skilled player based on how he's built physically.

Lets look at the errors though

Last week he and Staines had a mix up
This week he made a rookie error stopping a 40/20.
Then being so tall dropped a grubber.

As for the lack of urgency. It looks to me as again being inexperienced. He is hanging back and not quite in the spot he should be. Instead of rushing and making the error he hangs back

Very similar things were in Rapana's game last night. The same things you see with Walker at Manly. Just inexperienced rookie errors.

None have even cost us a try yet. Let alone cost a game

I actually saw some good signs from critta in terms of getting his confidence back last night, yeah he made some errors and was caught out of position a couple times but that is all inexperienced fullback mistakes. He was getting into first receiver and taking the line on a bit and breaking some tackles, he had the setup for Charlie. He’s doing some good things out there it’s not all bad.

He's let in 2 tries so far. The attempt on Wighton was extremely soft for example.

It's not all bad I thought he got better as the game went against Manly. His defence shows a lack of confidence. Needs a try or something to get him going.

Before he was moved he was having issues getting involved. Wasn't playing bad but not involved so that will help him when he goes back to centre

Wighton scored due to Capewell's poor miss

V Manly I think it was Eisenhuth at marker poor miss let the try in

Yes but as fullback he should be getting his body in front and having a go. The front line having poor misses doesn't change the Fullback's job. In saying that those simple misses by capewell is a concern.

That wouldn't have ended well for him I imagine

Martin didn’t look worried he just played the ball and got up pushed him off.

One of the raiders trainers grabbed fish and May during that scuffle after the try, fish told him to f**k off he looked real angry haha that is why wighton came back in to push fish away from the trainer at the end. SMH already wrote about so the trainer will get a warning or fine, I just watched the video he was really risking his life grabbing fish

Crichton in trouble for hands on a player who isn't on field so an official putting hands on an opposition player should get crucified.

Quote me where I said it was wrong to chase more money.

It's a performance based industry and he's been trash at fullback and quiet at best at centre. Players will always be judged on pay Vs performance because that's what they are suppose to be worth in terms of skill and contribution to the team.

People keep calling for Momirovski to be dropped so him and Burton can play centre when Momirovski has out played him so far.

I like Critta but he is a 700K player that is providing about 250K in value if that. There is no way Momirovski is on more than that, probably less and he has done more for the team.

I bet there are more than a few Panthers fans starting to think we should have thrown a little more money Burton's way and played a bit of hardball with Critta.

Yes that was a great one on one tackle. Like I said earlier looks a bit off. Needs to get a try or something to get his confidence going. Second year syndrome gets a lot of blokes good or bad.
Crichton was not that bad. Yes he made two errors, overall he had a solid game.

He's had a mixed bag so far this year. He's capable of better and needs to bring it.

Yeah he or his manager pushed for more and a responsibility comes with that.

I think it was Leniu that got stepped, probably Mitch Kenny's fault mainly for not wrapping up the ball when he chose to go high but Crichton didn't even get stepped. He just randomly fell over like Cust had some magical tripping ability. Eiso was making a legs tackle on Cust as he went over. If Crichton made any impact on Cust's upper body he wouldn't have had the momentum to get across the line. It was poor.

Which indicated, to me anyway, that Burton is having second thoughts.

Wouldn't you? He is in a side that looks like making the top 4 for the next 3 or 4 yrs atleast. Or going to what looks like a stink festival. The dogs may get better next season. But they have certainly gone a fee steps backwards on last season where they where tough, gritty and great defense.
