I don't see us making mass changes for this one...

But, the biggest thing of all in our losses against Souths and Parra was how ineffective we were in two key areas (I discount the Bulldogs loss because we actually came back at them and made a fist of it in the end):

1. Our run up, stand and deliver in defence (allowed too many metres and the opposition to get into good field position)

2. Difficulty coming out of our own end (wingers have to do more of the dirty work and we still aren't quite settled on the props rotation)

To these points:

1. Lawrie has to go - between him, Eisenhuth, Sele, RFM, LPT, Latu, he is surely at the back end of the pecking order between all these guys (FYI - Finau Latu ran for 166 metres in NSW Cup on the weekend)

2. Sloan is on thin ice - I'd like to see Finau go back and have a good game in NSW Cup this week to keep pressuring the spot

Agree on both counts! The sit-and-wait defence has been pissing me off all year. We know Ilias can’t kick that well and we let people run 50m every set, which in turn allows for a kick that makes us work it out of our own 10m line, making our subpar kickers have to produce a long kick. They can defend like all f*ck on the goal line which is pleasing but we shouldn’t have to be parked there.

Finau has always been the answer for us, he’s always had the metres and PCMs. Impressed in trials and against Penrith last year

I can't understand whats so hard about achieving good line speed in defence..it shoud be practiced over and over again at training so it becomes second nature..but here we are still talking about it as we have been for how many seasons.

As far as Sloan goes I have been a supporter but I don't think he's got what it takes. Any number of errors on the weekend and the try which was disallowed I think 99% of first grade wingers would have scored. His kick returns are very average...I'm not seeing any upside at this stage and he's had 3 seasons. The young fullback from the eels Isaiah Iongi. has shown more talent, guts and determination after 5 games than I've seen from Sloan...time to move him on!!

Hope Lawrie & Sloan are dropped. Potentially Illias too but don't think Glover will be any better, potentially worse with a worse kicking game.

I'm happy to watch, read, listen to dragons fans supporter groups/people but the some blokes on mad dragon podcast defending blake lawrie are crazy. One bloke said something like if you think blake lawrie is bad then you don't know footy. hahahaha. Talking about his effort areas & stats, fk me. Flopping in tackles & taking hit ups resulting in slow play the balls are not good stats or effective play lol.

If you had a choice between running at JDB or Blake Lawrie, I'm picking Lawrie lol.

They did a good breakdown of our tries though.

Llias played well against Storm, and did shit in 2nd half against Eels. I think its the team on him by lacking metres is that Lawrie! Why Lawrie played, especially in deep 2nd half? He doesn't make metres at all it kept having us push back giving good field position for Eels.

I hope we go like this:
1. Gutho
2. Finau
3. Suli
4. Holmes
5. Lawson
6. Flanno Jnr
7. Glover
8. Couchman
9. Liddle
10. Klemmer
11. Egan
12. Sua
13. De Belin

14. Cook
15. Leulia
16. Stewart
17. Tonga

Team list day. Please make changes to give my family a lovely weekend!

EDIT - Nine Sports predicted team:

Dragons predicted team: 1. Clint Gutherson 2. Tyrell Sloan 3. Moses Suli 4. Valentine Holmes 5. Christian Tuipulotu 6. Kyle Flanagan 7. Lachlan Ilias 8. Toby Couchman 9. Damien Cook 10. David Klemmer 11. Dylan Egan 12. Jaydn Su'A 13. Jack de Belin 14. Jacob Liddle 15. Luciano Leilua 16. Hamish Stewart 17. Loko Pasifiki Tonga

Dragons team news: No injury concerns, but Shane Flanagan could shuffle the deck in the forwards. Young prop Loko Pasifiki Tonga has been strong in NSW Cup and is closing in on a first grade debut. Hame Sele's return in reserve grade lasted just five minutes before he suffered a fresh injury.
