Nathan, dont know what he was doing but kicking it 6 metres instead of trying to build pressure was completely out of character not only for him but the team and how they've played for the last 5 games and remove the majority of last year, the past 5 years.. tonight was shocking

This is a point worth discussing.

What was Cleary doing with those two 10m kicks on the last in the second half? @Girds89 to stop Tracey's kick return metres?

At this point in the game we needed to score or create points. Both kicks didn't seem to be doing that. Both kicks came off as confused from Nathan. No real chase on the ball from what I remember.

Cleary in previous years hoists it up and we keep them on the 10m line. Not tonight.

In this instance its really not worth discussing tbh.

We were behind by 6. Martin comes off. So they go to Cogger for points.

I could see some argument for Tago but we are talking about him as some kind of x-factor now. Cogger isn't there to do that. Just to be another set of hands and he has done that job brilliantly this year.

Lussick was great last week but what on earth does he offer tonight with 15 to go? He isn't the guy for this scenario.

The truth is we were totally outplayed. Our biggest and best players in Cleary and Yeo were terrible. We got our pants pull down. No bench rotation fixes that.

We needed some defence and better service from hooker. Lussick does both of those.

Dogs wanted it way more from the first minute.

Zero intensity all night from our boys who just looked like they thought we would win

Blaize had a deadset shocker and will be targeted all year after that..

Very very very disappointing.

Can cop losing playing well...

We played like bums who looked like we couldn't be stuffed all night
Blaize has been targeted all season, he had no help tonight, because we lost the middle.

that’s on Yeo, not blaize

Kenny spent all night trying to milk 6 agains instead of trying to play football. I'd bench him for next week

When you are down by 6?

I thought Lussick was terrific last week but I don't see the angle for him tonight.

We wanted points. Its Cogger through the hands or relying on Tago to pull something out of his arse. Cogger has done his job this year so they put him on.

That doesn't change the fact its moronic to play him there
Some of you need to take a chill pill. Sure we were not great tonight but the Bulldogs were very good. The decision to sin bin Casey the NOT Kurt Mann was pivotal. Those of you that were praising our players last week then laying the boot in tonight need to look in the mirror. On to next week!!

You don't score when your hooker is stumbling, stalling and throwing passes off target.

Don't forget the non bin for the Garner one as well. That was our square up bin and they didn't give it to us.

I had almost forgotten what it’s like to have my weekend ruined before it started because it’s been almost a year since they played this bad. I’m not a fan of Thursday night footy but unfortunately we have quite a few Thursday night games this season.

I am glad we are 5-1 and not 1-5 like this time last year because we need all the wins in the bank pre Origin we can get.

Fair enough.

But ask yourself if you've got the balls to bench Kenny (A noted defender who plays middle, part of the original problem) to put on Lussick as a last ditch effort to score points. Maybe the service does improve but park that up against another set of hands in the line through Cogger. I know which one I'm choosing.

Its not an awful decision to play Lussick but I don't see how its priority one. At that point in the game just put another guy out there to play football and get the ball moving.

I think its a better argument to call Tago an x-factor and play him to break the deadlock. But his form earlier this year tells me he isn't going to do that. So back to square one with Cogger.

The dogs possibly their best game in a couple of years. I wasn't confident about tonight with good reason.

Penrith were off the pace and Dogs were very good. I'll take the L and move on.

See all of you next week when the teams are announced.

Putrid performance.

He had the odd good moment. I thought he'd come good after a halftime talk with Dad. Apparently not.

Leaning into our new attacking football..........WAY TOO much

I'd lean on this and also the fact its his 200th game. Nathan thought he had to be the man when all he needed to do was to be Nathan Cleary...be yourself mate.

I should really be Nathan's Dad now that I think about it. I could impart knowledge on someone else's son once per week easily.
