Yep. Talagi just needs some weight/strength which unfortunately takes time.

As long as he is doing the other side of the game well I don't mind so much. I think his attack has been pretty good this year. Halves having issues with defence is a pretty common thing.

Luai was a great foil to Cleary. I think Tailagi will end up the same.

I said earlier i think you just put Garner next to him. Garner has better lateral movement than Papali'i and can help him a bit.

Apart from falling for calls to pass to the other team. Must be 4 or 5 times so far this year

Probably would help.

But he doesn't play 80 anyway. So its Papali'i or Sorensen. I just care most about the combination who trained together in the off-season.

Haha you'd have to show me. I think I can remember one potentially but I can't really be sure.

He is still green. 47 games. So much time ahead of him.

If there was one thing to learn from Cleary its that you give halves time. Or all players in general. He needed 80-100 games to start hitting his straps. And that included playing Origin too.

I assume thats Papali'i in the off season but teams will know to stretch the defence and hit blaize. Getting someone who can cover the space is going to be needed. I don't know how else you fix it. Matty Johns or cronk said playing from the other side rather than the middle increases the space between the defenders which isolates Blaize.

I just think the long game. Do we expect this to remain a problem if we make the finals in 2026? If we see this repeatedly every week and its a massive overwhelming weakness I'll scrutinise it more.

Blaize's defence was low on my list of issues from Thursday night. Errors/Discipline and questionable game management were my key concerns.

Yeah it depends how long it takes to fix. Mclean looked like he didn't know how to pass and came good quick. We know video will be shown at training this week it's just how he responds. He could take this game personally and be cutting guys in half next week.

McLean is a perfect example. He had a knock on his game and within a few months it was gone. He learned very quickly. That is the player and the system down there doing its thing. We should be very confident on Blaize.

I think we also need to accept as well that halves will miss one on one tackles. Its happening in this game right now. Preston is a dangerous runner and he and Galvin did a great job on Thursday.
