There's not really much to say apart from the boys really need to pull their socks up this weekend.

Apr 18 - Here is the squad to play the Broncos in Brisbane on Sunday afternoon:

1. Rhys Wesser, 2. Lee Hookey, 3. Danny Galea, 4. Luke Lewis, 5. Luke Rooney, 6. Preston Campbell, 7. Craig Gower, 8. Joel Clinton, 9. Luke Priddis, 10. Matthew Cross, 11. Shane Rodney, 12. Tony Puletua (c), 13. Trent Waterhouse, 14. Frank Puletua, 15. Craig Stapleton, 16. Frank Pritchard, 17. Luke Swain, 18. David McLean.

Good to see Puletua named but I can't see him playing. I thought we would have had better options than David Mclean as the number 18.

I'm relatively happy with David McLean being named 18th man. Can do the job, without being spectacular. He has turned into our stop gap man.

Problem is him and Swain on the bench offer zero impact.

I'd rather Cross to second row with Norrie in at prop.

I'd rather Norrie, Moors or Aiton to be the 18th man.

Lets reward form in Reserve Grade rather than putting guys in that u think can do the job without any form themselves.

All I know is...if that Tame Tupou is attacking on the same side that Hookey and Preston are defending...we will be in for a LONG day.

The fact that Shayne Hayne is our referee is already counting against us...how this guy earns $115,000 a season is beyond me.

I don't think the Broncos have offered much all season.Their front rowers had big games last week against a soft roosters pack and Hunt and Hodges have played well all season but that's about it.
I'm not worried about Tupou too much, you know your in trouble if your main focus is on a winger.I think our side will bounce back well after last weeks loss and come away with a win.

I wasn't expecting Mclean to be named in the squad but if Tony is ruled out before flying to Brisbane I think Norrie might be called into the team.I haven't seen any premier league games this year so it would be ignorant of me to criticise the players selected.

I'm not overly exited about having Hayne as ref,but its not as if their is much better on offer.A lot of the calls he got wrong this year he received no help from the touch judge or video ref which hasn't helped. At least we wont have 25 penalties in the game.

I certainly hope so Schijt Hoofd.

I agree that Bronco's havn't offered much thus far, but they are 4 wins so they are doing something right. I'm most worried about Tupou just because of his size! He is a beast.

I think in the halves, we've got them...despite them having lockyer. I think in the forwards we've got them. If the backs can hold their own and defend well against the Bronco's spreading the ball wide, which they will, then we'll win.

It's possible that if Puletua is ruled out someone else will replace him and McLean will still be the number 18 as we always take 18 players interstate. This is what I'm hoping for anyway.

David McLean is underrated and has been selected because JL has faith in his ability to do the job. His form in reserve grade this season continues to be very good and he is more often than not the stand out back rower in PL. Unfortunately, Junior Moors continues to flatter to decieve? I'm sure he must have talent to justify the huge wraps but as yet he has not displayed anything to suggest he will progress to the top grade in the near future.

I am going to be at the game wearing my jersey with pride...

My flight back is at 7:45pm and if I am a lucky girl the boys might be on the same flight back....

Good to see Norrie in.

Hopefully Cross goes back to the second row with Stapleton to start.

For me ideally a 2nd rower has;

Pace
Size
Punishing defence
Strong running game
Ball skills
Heart

Unfortunately IMO McLean only has one of those attributes.

It's not what I'd do but I wouldn't be surprised if Pritchard starts in T's place and Norrie goes to the bench.

Pritchard will start and McLean will be on the bench.

Even though it SHOULD be Cross in the Second row...Stapleton starting...Norrie on the bench.

It's been reported on PI that Stapleton is expected to start and Norrie will be on the bench. Also, Gower is expected to be captain.

Good news.

The main thing about this game, is that Hodges is made to look ordinary. I hope one of our bigger forwards lines him up and smashes him early in the game.
