Round 7 v Manly

Im not sure how anyone else feels, but your wins seem much more authentic and cheery when you have a whole side with skin the game instead of a couple of stuck up merkins poncing around trying to dominate everything.
Once again, thanks for sending us Liddle, Silverdale. He did it again for us. Now smash those Hapless Eels on Monday. Love your new Avatar by the way. 👍

Wow what heart attack material, but we won and did it tough. I feel sorry for Feagai, even though I didnt want him in the team he didnt deserve to get injured just so we could get Finau in there, and credit as well because Feagai had done nothing wrong up until that time. Anyway, the other thing I was happy with was Sloan, only he in that Dragons side could have scored that try, plus he did some other nice things. Overall extremely happy with our team, showed some ticker but we must stop switching off during games. Big game now next week, 3 in a row would be great.

I think Egan is a great example of what the team and coaches see vs us punters

everyone’s worried about Latu yet the maybe “meh” signing at the time of Egan for two more years now looks like genius

As a 19-year-old enjoyed a standout Knock-On Effect NSW Cup campaign in 2024 appearing in all 24 games scoring seven tries.

He played in 1,871 of a possible 1,920 minutes making 849 tackles – the highest among all Dragons and third in the competition – at near 96 per cent efficiency

I mean he played most of the NSWRL games the year before that also as a 18/19 yr old

only 20yrs of age

debuted 2yrs younger than Liam Martin who was a similar build at 22yrs of age when he debuted

I see that same intense busy backrower that brings such professional level defence at such a young age

How good was that win, could be huge in the context of our season.
I’m loving our energiser bunny young forwards, they can go all day. Manly looked gassed after 20, we’ll do that to other teams, we just need to learn how to properly capitalise.
Anyway, we held on for a narrow win, will do wonders for our confidence.

I just wanted to give your signing of Gutherson a massive wrap. I thought you guys were buying a has-been coming over to collect a retirement cheque. Im happy to be wrong as he has absolutely found a second wind career-wise. His playmaking has been second to none.

I really do shudder to think where K Flanagan / Illias would be without Gutho though. They are both nothing more than role players, Gutho is the gamebreaker. Im sure every Saints fan well and truly knows this though.

Well said Victoire. Be careful not to offend in future eh
If people want to get offended about their imaginary friend - on a football forum - that’s their problem not Victoires. For a bunch of people who believe their sky fairy is all powerful and all mighty you sure get pretty insecure about the old chap’s feelings getting hurt.
Hell, at least Blake Lawrie actually exists - and hey it truly was an Easter miracle - a line break! You could even say he……nailed it.

Would of liked Sloan to take on fb instead of kicking..
But would any other dragon run 90m to score?

All of the superlatives of the win have been written by others , what I shall add is that the Big Red V finally have that will to win . The Dragons have been in every game they have played this season and that in itself is so good to see .

Full marks to Flanagan for restoring pride back into the jumper , our season can only become better with each match .
Thought at 14-14.
Here we go again.
But thankfully not.

Toby Couchman 143m and 51 tackles, another huge effort from this emerging gun. When Jack put him into a hole he showed exceptional speed for a big man, has a decent step too. Was my MOM.
Ilias, Sloan had their best matches of the season. Also liked the grunt work done by Klemmer. JDB, and Val were good again.

Cook prob had his best game too but for mine he plays too many mins while the better player Liddle, too few.
Guys
the most pleasing aspect of the past few weeks has been the continued emergence and progress of our youngsters coming through
Couchmans , Finau , Egan Stewart etc etc and more to come
All good for the future
Lets concentrate on securing them long term and not these over paid over hyped "unwanted stars " from other clubs

I heard illias interviewed after the match and the interviewer raised the past criticism but the youngster brushed it off and wasnt taking the bait.

Liddle always had a swing at WT and left us in good graces (like Garner) and as a fan base we are pleased to see them kick on and do well.

Weve had other vocal rats like Momorovski and Tedesco carry on like Ben Hunt ( where he was still at your club!).

Excluding Galvo (who has premier halves and coaches to train with), i believe some players play better under some coaching regimes and in different sides than others for different reasons.

Us fans, we love an underdog, a wretched and forlorn talentless player who against every concievable metric and all odds, through hard work and good training, makes good.

And whilst on the unlikely, theres a bit of a Bud cult developing on our forum, we want him back next year.
He fell a long way, but hes inching his way back.

We all like him and want to see him back to better days as he was under your management ( not ours lol).
