Round 7 v Manly

Finau Latu has toured the Knights facilities. Lykan King Togia has the Eels chasing him. It really looks like the coach is prepared to let our juniors leave so he can fit his boy into the 17 next season at either 13 or in the halves. He's putting his boy before the interest of the club. Absolutely unacceptable. The loss of Latu, in particular, would be appalling from a recruitment perspective.

Tui had a moderate hammy strain and likely a few weeks out.

Hopefully Finau gets a look in.

Egan has a minor sprain and will be ok to play
Finau Latu has toured the Knights facilities. It looks like the coach is happy to let go of him so that he can fit his boy into the 17 at lock next season. The Eels are chasing Lykan King Togia as well. Coach putting his son before the interests of the club is unacceptable. Just appalling.

I am not sure what kind of team Dragons will come out Thursday night. Brookvale is a fortress for Manly but I think Dragons may have a better team than theirs. Consistency is an issue that gives me a concern about 1 week win and then lose another in a repetitive cycle.

Again, I think this game should give Lawson or Finau a chance to play. Lawrie he did played a bit better hopefully he keeps up with his tackles, and good set of metres in a short stint.

Their big o 2nd rower will be running at our halves all night.

If we were 3-2,or 4-1 if we lost ok.
But 2-4 then Chooks we need to win but easier said then done.

Can the Dragons stop Latu from touring the Knights or Dogs facilities? No they can’t. Could they entice him to stay with an offer of say $500,000 a year for 3 years, probably? If you do that what happens to the other young players and what they think they are worth. Retaining juniors is I suspect a very difficult balancing act, they all want more money they all I suspect want to be a first grader tomorrow and then if we pay overs you can bet your balls all and sundry on here would complain.

Got to learn from mistakes else you’re going nowhere, I just hope they’re nurturing the talented juniors now and keeping them close. Flanagan is giving them a fair go now at least.
Dragon's biggest mistake was the 'job for old boys' backroom deals arranged by Doust, Craig Young, and Millward.

Players like Mary and Craig Young were fantastic players for the club. But a great player does not always mean that they will be a great official or coach.

It's not the coach or his son. We have Glover and Reed coming through. We have also recruited Atkinson for 2026 on. If necessary, we can always move Gutho to 6 and Ramsey to fullback.

From what I've seen, I trust Flanno to keep the players he wants/needs.

Unfortunately Haumole Olakau'atu was cleared of a shoulder injury and will play this week :( Aside from that, I think this a rare match where our middle forwards match up evenly with theirs and possibly even have an edge on them. Knowing that, and the fact Tom Turbo is still out, I might dare to get my hopes up on Thursday.

It's an interesting TLT... I fully expect to see Sione Finau slot into the left wing he occupied in the trials

Sua has a big job on Thursday, he has to nullify Otakau’atu. Suli has a role too.

I know players don’t like doing it but I’d be running as much traffic as possible to Jurbo.
He’s slowed down a lot & by tiring him out there’ll be gaps for Liddle, Cook, Gutho or Sloan at stages.
You’ve just got to hope he doesn’t get you head on.
