Round 7 v Manly

Heroic effort from the boys, not pretty but I'll take it any way it comes when it's another top 8 (likely higher) side we've beat this year. Last week our attack got us the win, this week a mighty defensive effort. The boys took a battering - lots of near things with knees and ankles and dodgy hip drops - but they kept fighting.
Need to work on our 5th tackle options and possibly sign a proper half (Oi ! Galvin, come join an up and comer team with good prospects for the rest of the year while you make up your mind). Alternatively give LKT a run.

Egan and Toby with 103 tackles between them plus Toby's 143 mtrs - the future's in good hands. Sione runs the ball very strongly, good leg drive. Everyone did well - Kylie and Ilias aren't great but they defend really well.
Even Lawrie went alright but he'll have to have a word with NRL.Com Stats, they seem to have missed his line break.

Now I can sit back an enjoy the long weekend with a smile on my face.

well, Hopefully we get more confidence out that win and start to pay a bit better, our second Halves have been very badly played when we are in the lead, we are on the up and our youngsters are doing us proud

We really need to look at our half time "procedures" (?) - for want of a better word - whatever we're doing or saying in the sheds is having the wrong effect and we come out flat to start the second half. Our intensity in the first half was excellent then gone in the second stanza. Need to pump it up and come out swinging.

Yeah well Flanno couldnt quite hide his joy with getting away with it.

There wasnt any blood and guts outrage over surrendering the handy lead.

He thought the players managed the grind well.

Hes a very creative coach, something his detractors dont see as easily as those who follow him.

He seems to be enjoying the " worst halves pairing in the game" leading the side around.

Manly at home, absolute feral environment for visitors. You need one of those sonic dog whistles to calm rheir fans down.

mate, if you can bottle the halftime magic elixir, you could sell it to every coach in the world and be talked about for centuries.

Great win by the boys - buried the Brookie ghost of 2024.

We just need someone to control the ruck/flow late in games. Gutho is too far away and Ilias is not the guy to do it.
2025
1. Ramsey
6. Gutherson - leadership and game management
7. Glover - Speed and good kicking game
9. Cook/liddle
14. Flannagan - versatile

I thought our first half was excellent. We are not a team of champions and I thought they paced it perfectly.

All of the superlatives of the win have been written by others , what I shall add is that the Big Red V finally have that will to win . The Dragons have been in every game they have played this season and that in itself is so good to see .

Full marks to Flanagan for restoring pride back into the jumper , our season can only become better with each match .
