Round 7 v Manly

In Gutho & Cookie, our dragons now have leaders. We haven’t had this calibre of player for a long time. They are ultra competitive & are having a major impact on our young fellas. Only last year when Hunt was out, I couldn’t easily see who the game day captain would be. So I’ll spend Easter sitting back, counting the days until Anzac Day when I can again witness the growth of our team, yard by yard. Good decision making will come but for now, I’ll watch us develop & savour every PCM from Egan and every break up the middle from Couchman. Good times are a-comin………..

That last play when Brooks gave us all a heart attack before he was called back, Gutho just watched the bomb bounce. He also went missing in action in both of their earlier tries down the edge, both enhanced by his opposite number, Hopoates timely injection to make the extra man. Gutho is an inspirational player with his cred and experience but he is slowish and no Nurayev on his feet.

Few stats:

- Couchman 13 runs 143 m 56 tackles HUGE!!

- Sua 16 runs 132m

- Egan 47 tackles 71 minutes .

Strange stats-

Klemmer 27 mins

JDB 24 mins

Interesting stats. To me the pack rotation worked last night and was a smart move by Flanno. JDB's workrate maybe smaller but is quality. He has a good passing technique and his tackle technique must hurt. He's playing his part. Hell even Laurie joined in the mix. I have a man Crush for Egan and Couchman!

I heard illias interviewed after the match and the interviewer raised the past criticism but the youngster brushed it off and wasnt taking the bait.

Liddle always had a swing at WT and left us in good graces (like Garner) and as a fan base we are pleased to see them kick on and do well.

Weve had other vocal rats like Momorovski and Tedesco carry on like Ben Hunt ( where he was still at your club!).

Excluding Galvo (who has premier halves and coaches to train with), i believe some players play better under some coaching regimes and in different sides than others for different reasons.

Us fans, we love an underdog, a wretched and forlorn talentless player who against every concievable metric and all odds, through hard work and good training, makes good.

And whilst on the unlikely, theres a bit of a Bud cult developing on our forum, we want him back next year.
He fell a long way, but hes inching his way back.

We all like him and want to see him back to better days as he was under your management ( not ours lol).

Can I join your Bud cult? I too think there is a real footballer there even though he's moved on. I wish him well, except when he plays us.

Interesting

When the boys were singing
Oh when the Saints

JDB finished with pointing to Lachlan

Nice touch
Still not convinced that Ilias is our long term half back but he seems like a really popular guy. The last time Dragons were killing it was when the team were a real happy and galvanised group. It's starting to look like we have that again and it is showing on the field.

All teamfirst clubs welcome!

As opposed to team-fist-ers.

Heres a couple of 'teamfist' clubs:

Broncos
Currently fisted by signing Hunt.

Bulldogs
Getting a rare official fisting by Gould.

Knights
Copping an ongoing fisting by Ponga on his crazy salary. I feel for their fans.

I don't see that as a high tackle he has his arm around the ball, the thumb is accidentally poking Gutho in the eye, if its was saints player doing that and we got penalised,we would be up in arms about it, move on nothing to see, play on..
It almost makes me numb that the bunker didnt pull that up.. accident is irrelavent, he eye poked gutho trying to catch a ball.. but because thats not specifically what we challenged.. he ignored it.. this stuff just beggars belief..

Gutho didnt go missing. He had Hopoate coming at him with support on both sides. He had to go to Hopoate who then drew Gutho and passed to supports. What would you have him do, tackle 3 players at once. It just highlighted how quick Manly are and that overall, our backline is slowish. That is why Finau and Lawson and Atkinson later in 2026, need to be fast tracked into our team

If people want to get offended about their imaginary friend - on a football forum - that’s their problem not Victoires. For a bunch of people who believe their sky fairy is all powerful and all mighty you sure get pretty insecure about the old chap’s feelings getting hurt.
Hell, at least Blake Lawrie actually exists - and hey it truly was an Easter miracle - a line break! You could even say he……nailed it.
What a d$ckhead! Are you enjoying your imaginary public holiday? If you feel so strongly about it maybe boycott and don’t enjoy this time off like the rest of us.
Your response was way over the top, distasteful. If people have beliefs, they need to be respected and not be vilified by the likes of low life’s like you.

What can you do when you have 2 or 3 on 1?

I’m not sure if this is a joke or not?
Did you join the forum and first post made was to a regular and valued poster to be careful not to offend?
Surely not.
Perhaps it is the man himself ? Blake has apparently joined the forum to get the latest gossip ? 😳
