When you don’t even watch the game and come on here and do nothing but bag the team.

Questions will be asked.

How do you think Aekins went in only his second NRL game? I’m sure his stats look good. Surely that impresses you.

I will watch the Kayo mini game. Not wasting 90 mins on that garbage.

Aekins never has a bad game. So I have no doubt he went well

Didn’t watch the game, but criticism of the referees would hold more weight if the same people didn’t complain about them every single time we lose. Like, literally, every single loss, the same people are blaming the refs.

You can bet when Canberra game thread is up. *insert ref* is ref that is it we will lose. Without fail

Proud of the boys tonight. Yes we lost .But if we can play to that level the trys will come.
positives
wade egan is getting better and better if he learns to get low when going in for a try he will get plenty
our forwards matched the South pack
the halves had thee best game as a combination
down side only 1
Mansour is so out of form he cant possibly be in first grade next week
drop balls poor hands
he was in in the center of the field on souths 2nd try way out of position
Blake try to offload to Mansour he is way to flat ball goes out
Got to agree with Slater's assessment when he mentioned during the game that our attack was clunky and not as structured as Souths was.

But the dumb shit is still in our DNA as though we are doing it on purpose. Maloney's play the ball and screwing up a chance to score, and losing it on our final play of the night? WTF was that about?

It was a cracking game of footy. Souths defence was amazing. I think we would have put 30 or more points on most other teams.

We played well. Your criticism is misplaced.

In 55 years watching this game I have never seen nor heard of a double movement penalty where the ball did not even reach the line. It reminded me of the Luke Lewis one in the '16 GF. He thought about it but didn't. Don't even know if JFH thought of it.

Other thoughts- Aekins did well and was starting to bob up in the backline in the second half.
Tamou made over 200 metres but I so wish he would wind up on his runs, he could be so damaging.
The halves are slowly starting to find some form.
Egan was very good. Katoa too in his little cameo before half time but not so much at the end.
Kikau was a beast, despite plenty of attention. Waqa was good too but they never really combined. The Rabbitohs coach worked this out.
Mansour was OK but a couple of bad mistakes. Try went begging when he overran Blake.
MWZ isn't any better than Edwards on the wing. Didn't do anything wrong but his biggest contribution was hit ups.

And speaking of the Rabbitohs coach, before he whinges about players laying on the tackled player, he should take a look at the very last tackle in the first half. That really should have been 10 in the bin and if it was one of our blokes it would have been.

Played well yet still lost... Despite almost everything except penalties going our way

We’re 2 from 7, I don’t see the point of keeping James Maloney. We aren’t going deep in the finals this year. Best Hope is we scrape in, maybe win week 1 again.

I’d be doing everything to find Maloney a new club so we can bring Luia in now, may as well get games under his belt.

Might free up some money to sure up another position as well.

I watched the game at the ground. I feel disappointed that we lost, but we deserved to win. The effort was good, our attack looked much better and we went forward. It was our best performance of the year. We are rapidly improving. If we play like that every week for the rest of the year we will give the competition a real crack. Aekins looks great at the back (he caught some tough bombs and was excellent on kick returns, he also played like an extra 5/8 in attack). DWZ also went pretty well at centre. Egan is rapidly improving too.

I don't often blame the referees for our loss, but if what I saw live was a fair reflection (often difficult to tell from a distance), there were some really atrocious calls. For South's second try, it looked to everyone in the stand like the ball spilled forward out of the tackle by about 2 metres (and was caught by the winger in front of where the Souths player was tackled), but somehow the touch judge missed it and Klein awarded it. Klein didn't even send it to the video (fair enough the video ref can't rule on forward passes, but they can rule on knock ons and spilled balls). He should have sent it upstairs.

JFH's double movement call was also baffling. It didn't even look like he made a second effort at the ground. Again Klein didn't even send it to the video.

Burgess completely milked a penalty when the game was on the line. Souths were completely out on their feet at that point, we were coming home with a wet sail and if Souths had finished that set would have been lucky to make it past their own 30 metre line. Klein, who was not standing at the ruck but standing back with the defensive line, didn't call a penalty during or at the completion of the the tackle - he called it afterwards when the defenders moved away and Burgess was lying on the ground clutching his neck. He can't have even seen a crusher happen. He blew it based only on how Burgess reacted. It was complete bullshit. The referee standing at the ruck didn't even see anything. Souths get the penalty, and Burgess gets straight up, then Souths make a break and score at the other end.

At the end of the first half, Souths committed a professional foul (holding down Leota when we were a real chance of scoring before the half time bell). It was plainly deliberate because they knew if we were held down and a penalty was blown, there would only be time to take the two. Deadset professional foul.

Those are just the ones that I can clearly remember, but I am sure there were others.

Change even one of those calls and in all likelihood we win. I'd feel for any other team that copped that kind of bullshit. Klein simply shouldn't be refereeing first grade.

RCG best game this year. Some of his early passes really helped the left edge.

Caleb is a keeper. Much better shape in attack and looks safe.

Tamou big effort. Very good again.

Was at the ground, looked like one on one misses from Cleary for two tries. DWZ look alright but their edge struggled in defence.

I liked Egan again tonight.

Felt a bit ripped on a couple close calls but overall quite positive leaving that game.
