Which is three layers of penalty.
So the employer shouldn't be able to sack their criminal employee because he was punished by the NRL and the courts?

Sacking him makes the NRL punishment redundant anyway. His suspension hardly matters if he is sacked. The NRL and Club punishments are basically one with the greater punishment ruling out the lesser punishment.

They can if they want, but chose not to under the circumstances. Possibly out of concern for the welfare of the player himself. It's pretty obvious there is more to this, and that one bloke has taken the fall for others. No-one has ever been convicted of distributing the material.

If he gets an extension, it is on merit.

Anywayyyy this will be a very tough game for us. I think we probably edge them in the middle but they still have quality across the park & when they get a roll on, very hard to stop Walker, Mitchell etc.
Since Walker has returned they have most definitely improved. Mitchell has also found a bit of form at fullback.

Definitely not an easy game.

No we chose the good old reward him for being suspended twice with a new contract despite not having played a game since 2018.

Bulldogs sacked 2 players who didnt even break any laws just this year. Because what they did while not illegal was not morally right.

Is it really hard to think someone breaking the law with crimes related to woman would be sacked at most clubs? How often do you see them not only keep their job but get an extension despite getting in trouble again while still being punished for their first offence?

No they got de-registered by the NRL not the club

https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/04/01...harawira-naera-over-port-macquarie-incidents/

A statement from Bulldogs chair Lynn Anderson, CEO Andrew Hill and coach Dean Pay said the club fully supported the duo's deregistration.

Personally I think Drink driving is worse then what May did. So it depends on the point of view if players are still happy enough, Sponsors and the League are happy enough then a player won't be sacked

Our middle should be too much. The backs are key for us here to keep them out although it would be helpful to get 19 errors from them again

Your viewpoint would change if that happened to your daughter, sister, mother, niece, etc, assuming you have any.

I have all of the above. It was consental. I doubt she didn’t know the camera was there...

Meanwhile I know people killed by drink drivers... hell the club has even had a player killed by as such

So no I take more offence to something that kills over something that causes embarassement

I was the one who said it was a stitch up. I'm not making excuses for him, he f**ked up for sure. But the time should fit the crime. Like I said, she had to be aware she was filming. I cant prove it. neither could he. I assume thats why he copped the plea deal. Some people are carrying on like he was chief engineer of the holocaust.

She agreed with your assessment.

Yep all true so no club will sack May in the circumstances as they were

Plenty have been sacked after recording criminal convictions. But it wasn’t just the criminal conviction, he then got suspended again before the suspension was up. So he got his second chance anyway.

And now on top of not sacking him we reward him with a new contract.

something stinks about this, and I think Betcats hit the nail on the head earlier.

Betcats outlined how in one video the girl says “you better not be filming me” to which May replies “it’s just a text message”

so you’re wrong.

He is close with plenty of players. Will no doubt be cheap so that is probably all it is

Some coincidence that the player in question is best mates & house mates with the coaches son, who’s also the highest paid player on the team.

Oh and Ivan himself was brought back to the club because he’s mates with the chairman.

Dollars to donuts almost any other player gets booted.
