Round 7 vs Warriors

I actually think that is even more reason to worry because we dominated the stats in a number of games last year (and 2016 and 2015) and regularly lost games nevertheless.
Now we have a gun halfback and a more accomplished hooker.
- I'm sorry but our pack is on par with 2017 not superior. Still great though.
We have developed more strike in our backline for sure BUT we STILL lost the game because the opposition deployed tactics to nullify our game plan and we were unable to respond..
Against a team without a number of key players to boot.
It is the worst way to lose a game - dominate possession and stats and fall short.
It sows the seed of doubt in players' minds.
We didn't play badly last night. The game could have gone either way. The Warriors played very well. They have also won 6 of their first 7 games of the season. It was probably the best game of the season so far. A few moments decided the game. It that that was one of the best we have played to lose in recent memory.

I think that Simms is superior to Thompson and is probably the form second rower in the comp. We were going excellent last year until Packer and Widdop got injured.

Yes The Warriors were without Johnson and Kata, but Lino and Gelling both had great games, so they didn't lose much, if anything.

No argument from me about all that you say except you know it's swings and round abouts - I gave up trying to rationalize outcome of games a long time ago.
We could easily have lost the Souths game and that form line has run true.
We were unbackable odds to make the 8 at the same time last year.
2018 is a fresh start but you have to admit, there were some alarming similarities to last year Friday night.

Dufty is a superior fullback to Dugan. Just because Dugan played fullback for NSW doesn't mean that he is a superior fullback. Pearce has played over 10 origin games for NSW and that doesn't mean that he is a superior halfback than Hunt who has only played one origin game off the bench. Right now NSW have Tom Trbojevic and Teddy way ahead of Dugan. If they were both available and seasoned when Dugan was being picked for NSW at fullback, then Dugan wouldn't have got a look in. Those 2 are also going to make Dufty's task of playing origin very difficult too. Dugan won't be playing fullback for NSW ever again.

Kurt Gidley played fullback for NSW too, Gidley even captained NSW. lol. If he had Teddy and Trbojevic playing when he was around, then Gidley wouldn't have got a look in either. NSW has also made many selection blunders over the last 37 years that origin has been played.

If anyone needs a template example of subjectivity, refer to the above.

No you couldn't and no you didn't. lol

Maybe you are drinking too much piss. lol

Have another James Boags Draught.

LOLat the sheer arrogance.

Here we go...in no particular order:

1. Cook
2. Koroisau
3. Peats
4. Friend
5. Wallace.

It wouldn't surprise if Farrah gets another go.

There's six,

Put your pants back on, pal.

Maybe the first 2, but not the last 3. Got to be fair.

Friend is a QLDer. Wallace hasn’t been mentioned anywhere near origin contention. And it’s been accepted that Peats is well down the list since Fittler took over.

There are exactly 2 hookers that could be picked over McInnes - Cook and Korisau.

Cook is a dangerous proposition in Origin.
Those dummy half runs that work so well in the NRL may not work so well running into the 8 best forwards Qld have to offer.

That being said, I think he gets a gig.

If NSW want to win, they should go for Cook.

McInnes plays similar to Peats, gives good service from dummy half and tackles himself to a standstill. That’s all well and good but that won’t cut it against Qld. Need a hooker that can challenge the defence (like Luke did to us).

Only question over Cook is can he go 80mins at Origin level? We know Peats and McInnes will.

that game turned on a blatantly wrong call ...

Yes Graham knocked on but the warriors proceeded to run the ball 20m passing two or three times .. that is advantage taken ... We would be up 12-10 at that point .. They score off the back of a 40-20 soon after ...

Such a bad bad bad call

Agree 100% Rufus & if the Warriors ran the length of the field & scored, i bet they would not come back & disallow the try, so when is advantage over?

Why not?

Peats is the incumbent.
Friend has played for Australia.
Wallace has played for NSW.

Folk who reckon McInnes is a lay down misere are set to be disappointed.

Jimmy, I don't think he a lay down misere that's why I said third on list.

Peats is about to he dropped from titans for rein. True!

Friends form is poor, own fans booing him off field.

Wallace no way. He ain't better than cam.

It doesn't matter if they played for NSW before, or Australia.

Their current form is poor.

But McInnes being third he probably won't get in anyway.

Though he will run close as I know the NSW brigade love his defence.

I don't understand why it matters so much to you for him not to be selected.

It's like hoping your kid fails at exam time.

Since when has a player's place of birth been a prerequisite for the State in which they play?

Inglis, Moore, Dowling etc.

Ok, so Friend, Peats and Wallace haven't been mentioned in dispatches but they are still more likely to be chosen than McInnes.

And, my original post from long ago mentions this.

Hang on, Rein is about to overtake Peats at the Gold Coast?!?

That's sure to make some apoplectic.

Tell me it ain't so.

Yep it's true.
Two reasons.

Peats lack of form.

And Rein is very close to Brennan, Titans coach, who had Rein in his ISP team at Panthers last year.

Talking to some footy knobs last week up on coast, they said it's going to happen

And yesterday's poor result will speed it up.
