On the subject of our misfiring attack, I think the most pleasing thing is that our defence is much better than it has been in recent years. If your defence is pretty good, the attack looks after itself eventually.
Not always, just look at the Sharks 2007-2008.
They had a great defence, it kept them in just about every game, similar to how it has done for us at times this year. I know they had a good year in terms of wins in 2008 (most coming by 6 points or less), but their attack was always pretty dour, and never good enough to win the comp.
The major difference between our side and theirs though is that we have the strike weapons out wide, its just up to the team to use them, and Bennett to feature them prominantly in the gameplan.
We quite simply are not playing the expansive football of the past, a brand of footy we know this side is capable of, evidence in the last 15min of the melbourne game. Whether Bennett is tyring to get the fundamentals right before moving to a more attacking gameplan remains to be seen, but as of this stage it looks like we will be scoring in the 10-20 range most weeks.
Quite different to the Knights sides of old, where Attack was our best defence. Might take a bit of getting use to.
