Its alright; we are preparing an ambush!

The Mole: Undermanned Rabbitohs planning 'ambush' on reigning premiers

They are missing five key forwards and are given little chance of victory - but Souths are planning an old fashioned ambush of premiers Penrith tonight.

Without Keaon Koloamatangi, Tevita Tatola, Siliva Havili, Liam Knight and Shaquai Mitchell, the Bunnies look like cannon fodder up front for the Penrith machine.

But the Panthers could be in for a shock if they think it will be an easy victory at Homebush.

"No one out there thinks we can win but that is what is spurring us on," a senior Souths official told Wide World of Sports.

"We are going to come out with all we have and hope to ambush them.

"They are a great team, but this year it's been shown that they are beatable.

"If we play at our best, we are a chance.

"They have a five-day turnaround and we have a week so that is something in our favour."

To add to the Bunnies' woes, they are also expected to lose much-improved winger Izaac Tu'itupou Thompson with a knee injury.

He is set to be replaced by the experienced Taane Milne.

That could lead to an interesting situation tonight … the last time the teams met, Milne was sent off for an horrific high shot on Panthers forward Spencer Leniu in a spiteful affair in the finals, which Penrith won 32-12

Well here we are Game Day is here back at home Round 8 for ANZAC round. Just our third home game of the year as well shame it’s a Thursday night but all us diehards will be out there in full voice. And what an assignment it is we take on the benchmark of the last 2-3 years and a team who is still probs the benchmark a juggernaut in the Panthers. Hate isn’t a word we use lightly but we have grown a fierce rivalry with the Panthers and I’m sure I speak for most Souths members in that we despise them and everything about them their smugness and their utter arrogance we have just had a gutful of it. They are one hell of a team and have beat us 10 of the last 11 times. For us we have had a tough draw to start but we have had two lesser games last two weeks and prevailed in those without playing the full 80mins. We seem to be building into the season and tonight is a test that probs comes at the right time to where we are really at. Boy we’d all love a win at home tonight many of us will have tears in our eyes I think of we can somehow pull it off!

Looking at Penrith they have strike as we know everywhere and they seem to never get tired. Edwards at the back never stops and makes massive metres as do their wingers To’o and Turuva. They are strong in the centres as well and of course Cleary and Luai in the halves. And in the forwards they’re still very strong. So we need to be on our game right from the start if we start the first 25mins slow we will have our pants pulled down. We need to be right on song in our effort areas line speed, kick chase etc…. Our back 3 need to defuse the Cleary kicks as best they can I don’t think we can afford to let those bombs bounce. All areas of our game have to be on and we need to come with the right attitude. As JD said yesterday there will be times in this game where our backs are against the wall deep underwater and it’s about how we react to that work for another play the Rabbitohs way about focussing on us and what we can do. We will have to dig very deep. Our kicking game needs to be better than it has been as well and we need to be patient in attack and respect the ball otherwise they’ll make us pay.

Ok not long til the players make their way onto Accor Stadium tonight as our 5th placed South Sydney Rabbitohs take on the 2nd placed Penrith Panthers. Great to see so much red and green in the stands on a Thursday Night let’s get that South Sydney chant up a running around Accor Stadium. Let’s make sure Penrith and everyone watching at home knows that this is South Sydney home turf and a South Sydney home game. Lets do everything we can to help the boys get those 2 vital competition points tonight and move into the top 4!

Ok ladies and gentleman please be up standing and welcome the players of both sides onto Accor Stadium for a special pre kick off ANZAC Day ceremony as we thank all they did for us we will have the last post followed by a moments silence…………….

LETS GO RAAABBBIITTOOOHHHSSSSSS

Chee-Kam should not even be in the squad. He will get pushed around. Dominated by a pack nowhere hear what it hass been.
A Journey man no one else wants who does zero on the field. Ditto for Cartwright.
Why would Demetriou play these types of players against a thug, a box you in bully?
This was definetely a winnable contest but I cannot see it now.

Whether we like to admit it or not... The Schedule dealt to our club has been a horror. Its the worst Schedule I have ever seen in any code or globally. Look at that for Penrith, Brisbane or Easts. Its far far easier. They get a hard game here and then then its Balmain Canterbury NQ or St George.
Guess Cleary's next opponent? Balmain. Ours at Brisbane then Bellamy. Absolute joke!!

You have to beat everyone to win mate. Rather have your so called hard games now or at seasons end? Anyway, I don’t think there is any easy games as such in the. NRL anymore.

Your mob doesn't understand the concept of an ambush. Hint for new players, secrecy is a key component.

Good luck tonight, should be a good contest.

That was shithouse from Ilias to get bumped off so easily. He has no business going high one on one against Leniu.

We couldn't have performed much better in the first half and we go in level. I fear the second half.

A heck of a game and a heck of a win.
I thought we were done, but just like you guys always seem to be able to find points before the break, I was confident we could get one try, but two seemed a bit of a stretch.
We will meet again.....
That we will. I'll be hoping we get to end your season in the finals again, until then enjoy tonight, it was a belter of a game.
