Round 8 vs Eels

Lawrie is playing the better football between the three of them. Watch him tackle, it hurts. Sims keeps him focused as well. Remember it's a big frame that has to mature and develop. In 2 or 3 years he could be anything

The same applies to Host & Lulia. Some posters here expect Simms & Frizzell type performances but forget these guys bodies & experience haven't fully developed yet.

According to Fox Sports Manly are poised to sign him after he knocked back Eels offer.
Apparently he's been offered 650K but wants 750 (that's Dugan money!). There'll be an outcry if the Eels manage to lose arguably their best player and captain. I guess Manly would play him at Centre or 5/8 given they already have Tom Turbo.

Can't agree with that- Penrith's Kikau was roughly the same age last year as Leilua and Host are now and was producing blockbuster performances then as he is now- particularly in attack. Victor Radley is younger than Host and Leilua but hits like a sledgehammer. Some players just don't kick on from their junior days and I fear Host and Leilua might fall into that category.

R&Ws4ever,
I believe that Mary stunted Host's growth by his non-selection and short stints from the bench. Now with regular selection and longer minutes he is beginning to show his real ability. Luc is also displaying the benefits of a bit more game time. I imagine that it would be tough for a young man who has been a go-to player all his junior career to be yo-yoing between NRL and NSW/C Cups and being just short shifts off the bench when in the NRL squad. As strong as Kikau is had he been with the Dragons I reckon Mary would have also slowed his development through non-selection and short bench shifts. It is what Mary does.

So will you be joining the chorus line of complaints when these 2 are with another club in a couple of years?
All players develop differently.

It's a start, a move in the right direction and may just show us Ravalawa in a different light.

I predict improvement in our right edge defence and for Ravalawa to score a try or two off Lomax.

We can win this one!
