Our needs are what they have been all year. Size & Power in the forwards. Speed out wide.

Anyone saying Docker was sweet for the Whare no try. Watch him for the Simmon's try. Then that he stuffed it no doubt.

After 30mins we had 60% possession & blew plenty of tries no excuse for losing from that

Man, I hope Robinson plays well in the next game. But chances are, he'll get a game or two and just be shunted back to reserve grade for Brown when he returns from injury.

I think a point that is missing here is that Jamal stopped getting quality ball when Elijah went off injured, which meant our left side attack was completely out of the game and made us very one-dimensional. If ET is out for an extended period, bring Matty Robinson in and play him in that wide-running second-row position.

I agree that Segs needs to start and have a bench of Peachey, 2 front rowers and a big back rower in the mould of cherrington or VTK. I also agree our wingers need to be looked at. Eto outside Jamal would be sensational, and leave Simmons and Mansour to fight out the right wing position, and at this stage I'd favour Simmons due to his safer hands.

We have two weeks until our next game due to rep weekend next week so hopefully Ivan and the team can make the tough decisions.

Teach- if Taylor did strain his medial Ligament it's a 4-6 week injury.

After the rep weekend last year we moved Whare & brought in Moylan. This year's needs a winger gone replaced by speed & Kingston gone replaced by size.

Stevenbird. I see us as no better then last year we have had 1 extra homegame but have another moved to Bathurst.

Throw in trips to Newcastle, Canberra, GC, New Zealand. Bathurst of course & away trips to Leichhardt Oval, Brookie, Bulldogs & Roosters.

So we hardly have an easy time from now.

I'm not going to add anything more to the obstruction issue. What's happened has happened.

However, I am interested to see what the wash up from the first Whare no try. The match report on the Panthers website touched on it, and Ivan was asked about it in the post-match conference, but no further reference (from what I could see) has been mentioned of it. Did Simmon's foot touch the ground before he released the ball? The refs not referring it aside, Fox Sports sure as hell didn't want to show 65 replays like they usually would when say $BW makes a handling error.

I am curious to see if there is any follow up of it, be on The Footy Show, etc. as well as Tony Archer being asked the question at the end of the round.

Let's just say I'm not holding my breath.

I said this last year and was howled down by a couple of people on this forum.
I watched all 3 grades today and the player I was most impress with was Kieran Moseley.
Btw Bryce Cartwright had a shocker in Nyc and I think the coach hooked him in the final minute.

thought cartwright was very ordinary -the members calling for him in firstgrade should watch if possible this game, showed why he is a fair way off firstgrade
scarlet was very impressive

Assuming Taylor is out for 4-6 weeks I'd like to see this:

1. Matt Moylan
2. DWZ
3. Dean Whare
4. Jamal Idris
5. Eto Nabuli
6. Jamie Soward
7. Peter Wallace
8. Tim Grant
9. James Segeyaro
10. Brent Kite
11. Matt Robinson
12. Sika Manu
13. Adam Docker

14. Tyrone Peachey
15. Nigel Plum/RCG
16. Jeremy Latimore
17. VTK/Cherrington/Anderson

I do want to see what would happen playing Nabuli and DWZ. I think Mansour will sign elsewhere and I think there is enough wrong in his game that we shouldn't persist if we are not going to get the benefits of it down the track.

Simmons...is steady but just want to see what we are like with that back three.

Apart from that...just adding Robinson for Taylor and bringing another genuine backrower off the bench instead of playing Kingston.

At the VERY LEAST I'd like to see Robinson for Taylor and Kingston out replaced by a genuine backrower - if that were to happen...Segeyaro needs to prove he's up for it.

If cleary does nothing but bring in a replacement for taylor we will continue our table slide
needs to drop dome players in reasonable form to better fit the team
mansour and kingston need to go
feel kingston does enough but we cant carry two hookers
mansour hands are too poor forr firstgrade imo

Please before the mansour desciples jump all over me its just opinion , if you dont agree just ignore

Cleary needs to make some changes to add some game breaking ability.

Our team is currently built to win very tight games with very little margin for error given our inability to score points, there needs to be a bit of shift to add some speed and attack to the side

Cleary didn't seem to want to make an issue of this in his post match interview, taking the position that the Panthers didn't play well enough to win anyway. Hard to argue with him, we should have won this game by 20 points.

Pretty much exactly the team I suggested mick, apart from the right wing where I'm happy to go with DWZ as a view to the future as well.

I know I might get criticised for this but that running back rower position on the bench could even be used to blood Andy Saunders, who I have huge wraps on. I know he plays prop in 20s, but he seems to be the type of player who could adapt to playing a bit wider. Only question mark I'd have is his offload ability, but given his great performances over a long period of time in the lower grades, he'd certainly deserve an opportunity.

We are not getting deep enough in attack. We get into the opposition quarter and all stand flat footed. We need more bodies in motion in attack if we are going to be a threat this year.

Yeah, point taken and fully agree with him.

It was just at that time, it could have had implications on the result... but at the end of the day, it's all coulda woulda shoulda... should have led by at least 12 at half time, and that may have been enough of a buffer and also confidence boost to just get on with it.

Pretty much what every other team does besides us.

Or maybe you should have watched Cartwright's three before that, or the great bulk of last season. He wasn't even bad, just over hit two kicks and missed Blake outside him.

Well you should considering we have the best player in the U20s competition already in that position.
