I doubt he will change the chn Crichton pairing tbh. Our defence as a whole was not what it has been the last few weeks.

Look out for early grubbers in behind our line this week. Conceded two tries in two weeks that way, teams will keep trying it
I've noticed a few times now Edwards doesn't follow the ball particularly well unless they are inside the 20. He probably should have been able to make a defensive play on the opening Holmes try.

Also if he makes a tackle, he should never stay at marker. He occasionally does leaving us quite exposed. If he can work on the 1% things, he will be top 3-4 fullbacks in the comp within the next couple of seasons.

Yeah he's not there yet but he's already the best defensive fullback we have had in 20+ years

He got binned because the rest of the team (mainly Wallace) gave away a stack of penalties.
Then he should have heard the warning. You can't blame his binning on Wallace and co. Luckily the game was over and the titans are grade A trash.

I couldn't understand why it was Ellis who was binned in that tackle. I couldn't tell from the penalty whether it was offside or holding on too long. No one seemed obviously offside, and if it was holding on too long then it was the harshest penalty ever.

Neither should play this week should be Tui-Loso's turn.
This is how I was thinking it might go. Coach is seeing who best handles the step up.

Once the refs give their warning and in fact a couple of penalties before that, they don't need a reason to blow the whistle. The same happened to Cartwright in the same game.

good point about testing the young blokes.

Also agree with the second point. Starts to seem like they are just making an example of the team.

Outside of obvious professional fouls its hard to blame players for being binned.

It's now a lottery on when the referees will decide theyre going to bin someone and blow a string of penalties for stuff they rarely penalise.

Look at Tamou being binned ffs. It came from a 'flop' thats not a penalty 90% of the time and one of the 4 penalties leading up to it was a strip call where the player lost it cold. Refs had decided what was happening and a binning was inevitable.

If we arent penalised for them dropping it cold were likely get a penalty or two and the warning gets reset.

The fact its the 4th player to be penalised is the lottery part. 3 of your teammates could give away blatabt penalties and you could get binned for something not worthy of a penalty just because the 4th penalty is a binning.

Refs want to bin players this year to show they have balls after years of not doing it. And its an absolute mess. There are things that actually deserve to be penalised or even put on report being ignored completely just to pull players up for the tiniest of things in the red zones.

And look at the joke binnings players have been milking this year. Slater the dog merkin has had 2 players binned by quick taps and running at a player and falling over. Talk about not in the spirit of the game. Refs eat that shit up though. Thats not a professional foul.

For me I worry that the wings are a problem atm , we leak most our points and teams make a lot of breaks out wide . The Sharks exploited this last week ,We will be targeted there again against the dogs.

Kick chase has been shown up a few times too. Having the same team 2 games in a row surely has too help

Agreed and on that point. The one deficiency we can't do anything about is combinations. Will have to come after origin which kind of sucks. In saying that we will be hardened and experienced through most of our top 30 at least.

Been the case since Round 2. Blake and DWZ are up there fast to contest a kick. The rest of the chase is half assed and by the time Souths score a try they're the only 2 guys close to stopping it.

Dunno why so few guys chase the ball with any urgency.

That would be part of the fine tuning for finals... After we qualify of course

griffin mentioned the kick chase not being as it should have been.

last time we played the dogs Mybe made a long kick return and they scored the next set. Both games we lost involved a poor kick chase. Souths scored off one too. Atleast they are onto it

I know its unpopular but I would like to see us take the 2 on offer whenever its available, I feel it just eases the pressure on our halves/attack especially if we go a decent part of the game without scoring, just keeping the scoreboard tick over helps us.... I think it also helps us momentum wise

obviously if we are down by 13+ we need to look to score etc.....
