Debate rages on in the NRL forum but personally I enjoyed the weekend off from NRL footy. It allowed me to completely enjoy the test match (shame it wasn't on live...) & a chance to smell the roses of the season so far.

This Friday is the Qld derby against a Titans side that finally got the monkey off their back in R7 and would be looking to make their way back into the competition. Historically, the Titans have always given us a good contest, no matter what their form is & I believe the game on Friday should be another enthralling chapter.

No injuries to come out of the ANZAC test, from all reports Hoffman should be right despite struggling with his ankle during the game & I believe Wallace is on track to return for the game. Which means the only players missing will be Te'o & of course Yow Yeh who finally had his operation today.

Broncos are due for a loss so hopefully we dont come out flat after the lay off. On form we should win by 18 but as Pete says I expect a close contest.

Am I right in thinking that the terrible Penrith game last year was coming off a bye?

Hopefully we don't see a repeat.

Titans coming off a win. Could be tricky

Not really. If they were coming off a loss then you could say they were desperate.

Brisbane need to beat teams like this so we have more "money in the bank" for when origin comes around and the 2 points will be harder to obtian.

I'd be surprised if this wasn't a close game. Titans looked good last time they played, and with a few Broncos backing up from test footy I am worried we might be a little flat.

to be honest if we get beat "backing up from test footy" can't be a valid excuse, not like the game was 2 days ago, it will be a week between games

sure, Titans have had the luxury of the extra week off but we haven't looked tired in any of our games so far

If we turn up we will smash the titans very bad but if we seat back and take it as a easy win we could be in for a very big surprise.

Yeah, I agree with most on here that it will be a close encounter. We can't take the Titans lightly - they always perform well against the Broncos.

I am predicting a win, but not by a lot.

Yeah been really quiet these last couple weeks. The forums that seem to be busy with chatter are the ones with teams not doing very well :p

Doesn't playing the Titans count as a bye anyhow? :)

I'm actually not as confident about this game as I thought I would be. If Prince is kicking well, he could really test our wingers. Copley has never looked good under the high ball and Beale is suspect on the wing.

Happy enough with the performance.

Norman is beginning to click in which is giving us more opportunities around the left fringe and in the backs. He still has room for improvement but so far so good. The pack was once again the highlight for me, the Titans aren't push overs and they showed that in that 10 minute patch in the second half yet our pack handled them comfortably for the most part. They're the stars of this side & I hope they can keep building through out the season.

Not a whole lot more to say really. Thought the Hoffman try was fantastic and probably one of the best in the Hook era.

Unlucky: Hoffman, Norman & Parker.
