Round 9 V Melbourne

Haha kept that one in your back pocket huh! You could've laid that one on the table before the game alongside side 'cecchin is going to stuff it up for us on Sunday'. Nice to have a little back up in case your essential belief was totally debunked today.

If cecchin wanted to go against us today he would've done it easily...home ground or not. There's no magic fairy dust that gets sprinkled on him when he runs out on to kogarah oval.

It's all in your head. Refs arent against us or for us. People just like to think they are. You're looking through your own eyes and can't see your own blind spots.

Ppl have gotta grow up. Refs make bad choices sometimes. So do players. So do you. So do I. And we'll keep making mistakes...so with seemingly bigger consequences than others
I think it's an interesting slant and definitely agree that the refs are not with us or against us.
However, in the case of Cecchin, he is just a shit referee - it's that simple.

Passed another test, and dont kid yourself...Storm are the top benchmark side. Tigers ambushed them twice, and we went in all guns blazzing.
Smith & Slayter made lots of mistakes today...thats pressure and playing catchup football.
we had a 10 minute period in 2nd half where we looked rattled..pushing passes and drop ball early in tackle count, but we got thru that and ripped the cold black heart out of the evil storm...to triumph..
Also a massive thumps up ...to the club, coaching staff..and the whole game day experience has lifted a few notches this year too..

But seriously if you know your yards slower than your oppoiste you would cover your touch line and make sure Aitken and Sims were doing their jobs inside of you.. You wouldn't defend 3m in from touch against Ado Car.. f**king amateur hour x 3 times!!!!!
Sims was doing his job inside Lafai you mean Frizzell don't you?

I agree our right side defence s a concern, I have written this a number of times this year and I will do so again......why don’t wingers stay on their opposing winger. We were taught from a very young age that wingers stay on their man no matter what, unfortunately ours both do it particularly Nightingale. Today in all of Addo Car tries he was left marking no one. It must also have an influence on the men inside him. I am not defending Aitken but it seems to be more prevalent this year than previous & it drives me mad as my neighbours certainly know !
You are 100% correct.
Mark up so your outside shoulder is outside your opposite so if you are going to get beaten make him do it on the inside so at least the cover defence has some chance of picking him up.
This plus the last time we played the Storm makes 6 or 7 tries down that flank still a major concern as we haven't corrected that fault but they can easily correct the faults that they made today after all it was only 4 tries to 3 and 1 incorrectly disallowed.

Yeap the inside defence was also to blame.
They are working on it at training

I think it's mostly this - as both sides actually do it - the right moreso than the left. Frizzell got beaten a couple of times by Munster which led to space on the outside. Towards the end of the game I noticed it had been rectified but it needs to be like that from the start.

Realistically, if the inside defence had've tackled Munster rather than let him run, none of those tries would have been scored.

You've basically hit the nail on the head and the problem then gets compounded by rushing up or in by the centre and the winger but I still maintain if the winger doesn't allow himself to get beaten on the outside by the cut out or overhead pass there is always a small chance that cover defence might pick up the inside player or you force them to put the ball though all the hands and that might produce a handing error.
I reckon for a passage of 5 or so minutes Frizz was running on less than empty and Munster exploited it beautifully.

Must agree , it certainly had me in stitches and speaking of Latimore apparently he has some ' special 'skills , I wonder if he picked them up at the Sharks ?
