Round 9 v Rabbitohs @ Penrith - RABBIT SEASON?

OK, maybe not. The Souths team, despite their current ladder position, seems to be more competitive this year. Injuries are not helping their cause though.

The Rabbitohs travel to Penrith for a Mothers Day clash against a Panthers outfit that is still in a rut.

PANTHERS - Returned to the winners circle last week with an unconvining win over the Tigers. At times, they show why they are the defending premiers, but at other times were quite ordinary. Some individual flashes of brilliance seem to get them across the line - as a team, they are struggling a bit. But it looks like they are not too far away from regaining their form. One game may be all it takes.

RABBITOHS - After a whirlwind start to the season, find themselves in familiar territory again. But they are an enthusiastic bunch, and stretched the Knights up in Newcastle in their last start, before going down in the last 20 minutes. If the opposition are switched off, these plucky bunnies can be a pest.

Predicting a result is not as clear cut as it seems. Penrith will go into this match as overwhelming favourites, and Souths will probably have a large-ish start on the FootyTab.

But the Panthers will have a number of players backing up from the City-Country clash, so this could drag them back a bit.

Panthers by 10.

The PANTHERS team to take on the Bunnies...

1. Rhys Wesser, 2. Amos Roberts, 3. Ryan Girdler, 4. Luke Lewis, 5. Luke Rooney, 6. Preston Campbell, 7. Craig Gower (c), 8. Joel Clinton, 9. Luke Priddis, 10. Martin Lang, 11. Joe Galuvao, 12. Tony Puletua, 13. Trent Waterhouse.

Interchange (from): 14. Ben Ross, 15. Shane Rodney, 16. Luke Swain, 17. Paul Whatuira, 18. Frank Pritchard.

Looks like we may be compensating for T, just in case he can't play again this week.

Hopefully T is better and that Pritchard has been named to cover any of the 5 players out who may not fair well after Friday night. A bit of shuffling and the 18 players named could easily shuffle around any injury.

I said we may struggle with this one especially with our Rookies backing up a 2nd game on the weekend. So i'll say 9. A Gower field goal and Girds kicking will bring the score up! ;-)

Parra Panther I have never seen anyone as one eyed as yourself. You quoted at times we saw why Panthers are the premiers at other stages they were ordinary against the tiger. At no stage did I see any side on the field that would make the top four, however it is good that you do have faith in your side, I saw a under 11 game saturday morning that was better than the Panthers/Tigers game and the ref was better as well.

I reckon T will be okay to play, well more certain than the players backing up from City/Country clash. Glad we are playing on Sunday and not Saturday.

Big Artie has massive problems constantly coming on to the panthers forums. Go back to your own forum or does know one want you there either? :?

Why's that pepstar?
I wish the game was Saturday ... I would have thought if you keep your muscles active it's easier to follow through the next day rather than 2 days later where the muscles stiffen up more.

I think Souths have 22.5 start on the footy tab. I might throw a couple of bucks on them at those odds. I think Penrith will win, but on the last 3 week's form, it won't be by much.

Well they will get more rest. If they played 2 games in 2 days i reckon the muscle would be more active and wouldnt stiff up thats for sure but they would probably end up sorer after the game against Souths if played today.
And its on Sunday so they will get a days rest and then play and will still be sore afterwards but i dont think as sore as if they played on Saturday?
I dunno!!!!!
