It's too easy for a strong defensive side to take a star fullback out of the game. Hayne has just been starved of opportunities to do what he does best, which is running the ball. At least halves can get their hands on the ball at first receiver, even if there's no room to run.

He's just a very average attacking player, and his defence works best in a team that gets up quickly. The Titans are big and sluggish in the middle and if he comes out of the line he'll be on his own.

He only played 40 mins tonight. I thought he'd basically been doing what he always does. Smart service, good defence. He's not a Cam Smith level hooker but he's very good and a lot of what he does goes unnoticed. IMO anyway
