This. Tago was great. The game itself was poor quality with us having injuries and the reffing was bad and the Dragons played with 110% energy. Overall though being a good defensive team and dragons errors saved it.

Still not unhappy with anyone honestly but the bench could use an extra prop/second rower.

I totally agree.

The one real positive for me was when reading that stats Penrith won with 45% of the ball.

Making almost 70 more tackles, and having less yardage than the Dragons.

This shows how gutsy the win was.

tago is a gun and provides alot more than what he lets through.

Yep.

The way i see it is yes hes still learning in the nrl. Hes a rookie. He will make mistakes but the upsides appear already way more than the downsides. Hes already shown hes big enough and strong enough to mix it with the big boys and in defense hes been really good. Yes he couldve jammed in yesterday but if he jams in the just go wider and score in the corner. He will learn. But also i think even experienced centres get that wrong too. See it every week from guys with way more games than him.

The difference between say... him and staines last year is just enourmous. So many on here just backed staines all year even tho he just wasnt up to it physically and wasnt putting in.

You can cop mistakes from rookies when they are having a dig and ripping in.

I said all last year staines had to go back to nsw cup or when that got canned he just needed a full pre season to hit the gym..think we are seeing the benefits of that now.

Tago doesnt need that. Hes ripping in having a crack and doing really well. Not sure what more we could want from a rookie at this stage.

Im really really excited to watch him develop this year. From what hes dished up in two games i can tell we have a special player on our hands.

We all know nathan makes our players and team better so well start to see our outside backs realy shine when he is back and had a few games under his belt.

As for the bench comment.

Look at other sides small packs are the norm now. We are actually pretty big in comparision

Even with NSW Cup call ups.
Flegg still has a few guys too good for this grade
Fullback especially
Connor Mason much better as a 9 - scored 2 tried
Ryley Smith is playing as a lock

We were behind 14-6 at halftime
Won 28-18

As old school can someone explain in detail what 'middle' and 'edge' forwards mean in simple language.
Middles cover the middle third of the field. Generally they will have a half on either side defining the edge of where the middle is. Edges play on the inner edge of the middle, often on the outside of the half. In attack they give the half 2 options on a sweep play to try and fool the defence. Thats why it's good to have an edge forward running good lines.

It's more nuanced than that depending on how teams are structured, bit in simple terms I think it should answer the question.

Taylan had to of been close to beating staines imo.

I think charlies done well this year.. been solid and a definite improvement over last year.

But i think once taylan gets in therell be just no way to leave him out and him snd brian will be oyr wingers.

Hes a very talented player.

Getting Covid right on trials hurt him. Assuming he gets in it will be a good shoot out for that spot at full strength.
