Can’t even remember the last time we beat the sharks, and watch us fold like a deck of cards against the titans

Real opportunity to get our claws right into a shortened season...so these being designated rnds 3 & 4 i take it that everyone holds onto the points earned (or not) thus far?

Was hoping we’d get the Panthers minus their halves

No excuses for us, barring any training mishaps will have a full squad to pick from against 2 sides 0-2 and widely picked to miss the finals.

3-1 should be the goal, even 2-2 would be disappointing

Should manage to scrape through both.

Team selections will be fascinating. Will we want momo back?!

I think the shorter season will suit us and all the clubs with limited elites, because many of the elites are long haulers and fit. Good enough to do the season, soo and international commitments. That’s so much footy in a normal year.

Having said that, we could probably loan out cusp kangaroos to some countries and for mine, bring in a handful of internationals for soo.

This would go some way in bringing the best players together at once, even a world wide mvp across all leagues. Play for the soul of the game, proceeds to charity.

If it turns into a vintage year, reduced rounds in the future could go a long way in fixing up the shortfall of the cap in terms of its balancing out our cattle.

Surprise...surprise.
Broncos get both Thurs games.
This is the most biased competition towards 1 team in world sport.
They get a full 7 day turnaround.
Ridiculous.
Some Other teams only get a 5 day turnaround.
The Broncos should be premiership favourites.
Easily.... they always get the most favourable draw.
NRL needs to wake up.
I know loads of people who are sick of this blatant favouritism.
The Bronco supporters will say that Queensland needs either a Thurs or Fri game to keep the QLD supporters interested.
Maybe so.
How about giving the Cowboys or Titans a go?.
Probably the most professional sports comp in the world (English Prem. League), would not stand for the blatant advantage 1 team gets over the rest of the competition. The other teams in that comp would boycott games until the draw was a level playing field for all teams.
Some people who know nothing about contact sport will try to say there is no advantage between 5 days and 7 days between games.....RUBBISH.
NRL/Foxsports/Chan.9, get real about a fair draw/competition.

Broncos are the biggest protected species in the game, anyone who says otherwise has no clue

But to be fair, they will be playing Eels and Roosters, two top 4 contenders

Re selections Madge confirmed Douiehi will be 1 and all but confirmed Grant will be 9. Bench make up will be interesting.

Douiehi at one, Brooks at 7 and Grant at 9 gives our spine a major overhaul from round two. Granted it was not our spine that capitulated against the Knights, rather woeful defence and zero self discipline.
I hope I am not pinning to much hope on Grant’s shoulders, but I have been waiting a long time for a fast skilful no9....that’s not in anyway having a go at Farah, because he was a champion, but I think Grant could be the key to a lot of our woes

This should get people pumped about Grant, just look at the way he can manipulate the defensive lines and set up tries

Watch the ones he sets up at 2:33 back to back, masterstroke. Given it’s only qld cup, but you can see why he’s rated.

Matty Johns said at the start of the year if Grant was playing for any club other then the Storm he’d be the QLD Origin hooker. He is meant to be that good. Considering we’ve only got him for 18 (+hopefully some finals) games I don’t think we should expect him to ease his way in, it might be unrealistic/unfair expectations however he needs to hit the ground running from round 3

With Grant at 9, Adam D at 1 and new ruck rules it could be 05 all over again.
If the refs don;t fold that is. If we can tire out the bigger packs by using the ball in the first half even if we don't get a lot of points from it we should be able to run away with it in the 2nd half.

It has a certain underdog feel to it doesn’t it, a young pack with potential and a couple X factors. Although not to the same extent as 05 Marshall

I still think around 6-7th is more realistic, though. Only play roosters, eels, Melbourne, Brisbane once and some of the bottom feeder teams twice

Just playing the devils advocate here, but he wont get a lot of those plays in the NRL, but he seems to read the play well.
Does anyone know what his defence is like?

Haha such a stupid statement from Johns. The young fella has played 2 NRL games in 2 years. He'll hopefully fill a hole. Anything more is a bonus.

Do I think we will win the comp, not likely but I do think we will surprise plenty of people
