The NRL let the broadcasters decide the draw in order for them to come onboard with a season restart, it is clear for all to see. Raiders went from 9 free to air games under the old draw to three under the new draw. Teams like Souths and the Eels have all the top slots along with the kola bears, sorry I mean the Bronks.

Uncle Nick came out swinging, saying you can’t call it a draw as there was no draw, it was a Nine and Fox creation and I agree with him for once.

I really don’t care who we play, because you have to be able to beat good teams regularly to make the finals, but I do think the time slots need to be evenly spread because they have a major bearing on your bank balance. You need good exposure and at the right time.

With the new draw and a shortened season our top eight chances have dropped by a fair margin, but with basically a new spine at our disposal from the start of the season I will hold off with a total write off. Fingers crossed Harry the Hooker is going to be the messiah

I guess none of us know how anyone (team) will perform, what may look easy (or hard) on paper, may turn out to be the opposite.

I agree with SC, if we are to be a chance, we have to beat the majority of teams to be there.

Our last game was a shocker but maybe the break will be good (I hope so), all teams have there problems, but if we can play consistent and stay healthy, then anything can happen.

The next few games will tell us more.

The entire thing has essentially been setup for Parra to win the comp. they’ll likely play 14 of the 20 games at Bankwest, avoided all top 4 teams twice and statically got the easiest 5 teams twice
Meh, just means they will believe they have already won the comp before the finals have started and will choke as usual against one of the battle hardened teams.

the draw is uneven every year but the best teams always seem to end up in the top 6 and the rest are usually just making up numbers

not sure whats funnier, them missing out on the 8 altogether or losing a semi/prelim
