Hunt's effort in the finals thus far have been solid. I really hope he can get some miles into his legs because we need 5-10mins per stint longer out of him.
Him playing extra games in the finals plus a full off season with us is just what's needed.
Also will Hunt play for Samoa against England late October?? If he does, that will be good for him providing he doesn't get injured nor parties too hard over in the UK.

Hunt promises surgery for Sharks who cross him in 2025

Royce Hunt has promised his Cronulla teammates will wind up in surgery if they try to put a shot on him when he joins Wests Tigers next season.
"There's a bit of banter happening already about who I'm going to run at off the kick-off," he said.
"Ronaldo Mulitalo reckons he's going to shoulder-charge me. If he tries, he'll be in for another shoulder reco. :)
"Braydon (Trindall, five-eighth) will be hiding on the wing off the kick-off. I might just have to get a quick line out to him and run straight over to him." :)

I hope they don't ban the back fence charge. Hunt's build for it.
I hope 650k isn't overs for him.

I like him already, I think he will be a good un.
I love what he's said and looks fit and committed.
He has to have an enormous off season Tm.
In the season proper, I figure 2 x 15 min halves to start off with, probably to give Klemmer a spell or injuries.
Ideally he has to come on in impact type moments hey. He can work on more game time if he can join the line ok in D.
He is virtually unstoppable in red zone crash balls.
He and May will attract several defenders for Luai and Galvin to work their magic.

Have we really paid that much ? I doubt it. We'll be over the cap in no time.
Yeh I read it today. It was in the external Sharks forum and on twitter but it was a rumour from Hunt's neighbour's uncle's girlfriend's hairdresser.
I agree though, he'd be 450k player.

I read somewhere that a big part of why they signed him was for his leadership amongst the forwards. Looking forward to see him ripping in, even if it's just short, high-impact stints
It's awesome to see Hunt return to training early and rip in because poor fitness was one of the reasons he was a bench player at the Sharks but he promised Benji he can hook in and get fitter...looks like he's at least trying to uphold his side of the bargain.
If he was super fit he would be another AFB......I love the way he carts the ball up.

650k a year for Hunt?? Paid overs if true. I guess time will tell if he is a good signing.
Yeh it's overs. Unfortunately we needed a middle after we lost the Ute and the well dried up.
It's worth it if we can get him fit. I've kept my eye on him for a while. He was virtually unstoppable in 2022 with his damaging runs.
I think he hit the big time then rested on his elbows. Struggled with injury too.
So we took a risk with Hunt and now we have May. A truly blessed outcome because now a fitter Hunt can be used as a bench impact player.
He returned to training early and is ripping in.
He seems to have an attitude of, "let's have another bash".
