Haas will make 2 mill at the Bronx with third party deals etc. They`ll be calling in all their corporate contacts to keep him.

If I’m starting a rebel union comp in non rugby nations I am not spending $3m a year on a workhorse nrl prop unknown outside of Australia & NZ where a team won’t even be based. It just sounds like a load of bullshit from an organisation that is obviously struggling to sign enough players to even get this turd of an idea off the ground.

He’ll pay tax on that though. If he gets $1.5millUS in r360 tax free his bring home would be significantly higher ($900k aus) Than $2mill in nrl.
R360 has also said players have their own ip rights so he could in theory sell his image rights, sponsorships etc himself Like the F1 drivers do.

if I was a player switching to r360 I’d want paymnet upfront, it’s likely to not see out 2 years!

All that is good about Haas mostly just translates to Rugby league. He's a big damaging runner of the ball but what makes his so good is the minutes he plays and stays effective in defense.
What's the point of spending a heap of money on someone with stamina, when your game doesn't require anything close to that?

He doesn't know anything about the job he'll be do in Rugby.. rucking, clean out, scrums, lineouts..
And you're paying him 3 mil??
For what? Star power?
We all love Haas but we're not watching a game just to see him.. that's ridiculous.

As much as I appreciate Haas, I don't really see him putting bums on seats, he's a work horse.

it feels like R360 really wanted him to show they're serious but in doing so have shown anything but.

This was exactly the same with Sam Burgess. They’re both athletes who’s physical and mental abilities are perfect for rugby league - stamina, impact, repeat efforts etc etc
And we all saw how it worked out for Sam.

Have you seen how fat Union players can get?
People make it in Union just because they have a large mass.. it's the fat boys club.

The Broncos will have the best of their accountants on to this, no doubt Haas will be running his income through a trust and God knows whatever schemes to get his tax bill down like investments, negative gearing, super loopholes etc.etc.etc.
I doubt very much he`ll be losing ~30% of his income to tax in Oz which puts his net earnings pretty much on par with the figures you`ve estimated from r360.

He is only getting that money tax free overseas if the Aus govt deems it fine.

That suggests he will be paying some tax here.

Did he play union at Brisbane grammar or whichever school he went too ?

Think I read he starred in both codes as a kid
