If I’m starting a rebel union comp in non rugby nations I am not spending $3m a year on a workhorse nrl prop unknown outside of Australia & NZ where a team won’t even be based. if I was a player switching to r360 I’d want paymnet upfront, it’s likely to not see out 2 years!

What's the point of spending a heap of money on someone with stamina, when your game doesn't require anything close to that?

This was exactly the same with Sam Burgess. They’re both athletes who’s physical and mental abilities are perfect for rugby league - stamina, impact, repeat efforts etc etc

The Broncos will have the best of their accountants on to this, no doubt Haas will be running his income through a trust and God knows whatever schemes to get his tax bill down like investments, negative gearing, super loopholes etc.etc.etc.
I doubt very much he`ll be losing ~30% of his income to tax in Oz which puts his net earnings pretty much on par with the figures you`ve estimated from r360.

He is only getting that money tax free overseas if the Aus govt deems it fine.

Think I read he starred in both codes as a kid
