You’ve lost any credit you might have had as soon as you start throwing around the word “probably”.

Unlike me you probably don’t know anyone that actually works for the NRL.
Don't know what's funnier\more depressing.

- using probably when dismissing anything where probably is used
- avoiding any actual point raised, or
- personal favourite, effectively saying that everything in a court case is definite and you can't use probably when discussing future events and human behaviors

I purposely did that. How did you not “get” that?

There is no longer a need to do so. You’ve lost any credibility you may have before that.

Their general counsel probably did a short stint at a law firm and highly unlikely they were an industrial relations specialist.” - Murishido 2025

This is not discussing future events and human “behaviors”. I would have spelt it “behaviours”.

More just wanted to see the response, because I got what you were trying to do but the ironic use was undermined.

Didn't use the quotation marks (odd given the pedantry around autocorrect) which would have been fine if you didn't then going into a no-name drop.

Wow you know someone that works at the NRL. Wow. Gee what a life time achievement.

If that's what is impressive about your life that is just sad.

But you can't successfully do irony and then do a temu name drop that has no name.

There is no longer a need to do so. You’ve lost any credibility you may have before that.

Yeah nah. Not using the word probably for things that aren't absolutes is less credible. I'm certain their legal team would agree.

Odd that probably is such a threshold, again with no explanation, but backing the statements of someone who has definitely been unsuccessful in the courts as fact is okay?

But the point of me arguing with you isn't to get you to see my point of view it's to repeatedly highlight for others on the fence that your point of view deliberately ignores PVL has been found to be incompetent as a regulator before and isn't a great judge of what can and can't get through the courts.

People like you spread like cancer, stupid is just too easy to spew out.

You cited that simply the use of probably removes any "credit [sic]" for the post as whole. So yes, the discussion of the whole post is relevant.

Even if you limited it to my "credit [sic]" regarding an opinion on the likely background I stand by the comment as it was based on my experience with GCs at organisations. Someone more intelligent than you might also find how close I was almost prescient.

Given you unequivocally backed their view with providing anything in this regard it's tough to see how you have any "credit[sic]".

Also typos? Is this is where you lose credibility, but then you'd say credit...

I make typos all the time but if your going to throw around an auto correct as some trump card, whilst defending the experience of a general counsel with US experience no less, you might what to reinforce those glasshouse walls first.

No-one knows if the bans will stand the test until they've gone to court. That may take years in what is a short playing career. The mere threat though is appearing to make potential jumpers think twice. RTS was a certainty to go but his agent in the last couple of days has advised he is advising RTS not to do so now.

I don’t believe that for a second, otherwise you would have called it out immediately.

Definitely not a life achievement. What an odd thing to suggest, you strange person.

Of course I’m not going to spell the inference out for you. You already know it of course. You just don’t mention these things on first attempt evidently.

But you can't successfully do irony and then do a temu name drop that has no name.
If you say so.

Yeah nah.
Sorry, I didn’t realise I was speaking to a 16 year old from the 00’s.

Why would you care? Why not just keep guessing their qualifications & experience without knowing?

You were called out. Grow up and own it.

People like you spread like cancer, stupid is just too easy to spew out.
I hope your life is never touched by cancer. Cancer is absolutely f**ked and not something that should be said in a sentence like this one over and over topic like this. I hope you never have to understand why a sentence like this should never even be thought of, let alone said to another human being.

I don’t care to count but what is this, 8 paragraphs in and you still can’t let go the credibility thing. Sore spot much.

Given you unequivocally backed their view with providing anything in this regard it's tough to see how you have any "credit[sic]".
Assuming you meant to say ‘without’ instead of “with” my response to this is …

ahhh you see. I don’t give a shit about what any random person on an internet forum posting under an anonymous name thinks of my credibility.

Unlike yourself given the length of this post.

It’s really bizzare of you to type a long post having a tantrum over someone calling out your “typos” while deliberately and simultaneously referring to a typo of mine.

Now I don’t have enough time in my life to go back and forth with you over this because your feelings got hurt that someone you do t know claimed you’ve lost your credibility. You might need to look into why you’ve reacted so hard and emotionally to that. Given your tantrum here and your sentence which contained what I feel as an inappropriate comparison between a human being and something in this world that is truly dreadful, I will be putting you on ignore and moving on with my life. Good luck with that homework sport.

Id suggest uncertainty about the competition going ahead is more a deterrent than an untested vlandys threat. Pretty sure RTS at 32 isn't worried about a possible NRl ban.

I was watching the review of a study yesterday. Interesting the findings were that people who said they are right about their opinions (topic irrelevant) 90% of the time were proven to only be correct about things 53% of the time.

Not aimed at anyone. But it’s probably likely to apply to some people on here.

I love the sleight of hand at play when referring to the two Rugby codes.

For Union, European Rugby (generously exaggerating the game's reach) = France and mainly the South of France (England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland focus their domestic leagues on local players mainly and don't generally splash the cash on foreign players like France do).

For League, North of England (uncharitably understating the game's reach which has two French clubs) = Superleague

That's great but all the people pretending the nrl gets to just operate outside of the law also aren't that well read.

It's a bluster rule to begin with, a 10 year restraint of trade on careers that average 3-4 are less likely to win than PVLs defamation case.

Let alone retrospectively putting into contracts

Let alone then applying it to people who they have no contract with.
Yawn, the NRL can register or deregister whoever it wants

And even then, a loss in court doesn't mean the NRL must register the player, it just means the ban is not considered legal.

“Talk out or Europe”, ie he has done some google searches and can’t find anyone outside some NRL hack journalists being fed lines by player managers who can be bothered talking about it.
Maybe he got a text message from Europe. From what I’ve seen from him on NRL 360 you could write what he knows about league on the back of a postage stamp. With crayon. And still have space left.

Now the Union internationals are over … there is nothing preventing R360 from making public statements about their competition and more importantly the players they have signed which are going to be 90 percent outside the NRL.

If they don’t do anything in the next couple of weeks I would suggest starting the comp in October next year is BS

I think it is going to be Paps and Lomax playing "force ems backs" on an 8 week world tour

Wales is Tier 2 and Scotland is more like a Baa Baa's (stupid term) term and Ireland are slipping.
