Rugby Australia to target top NRL talent - Lomax case settled

They didn’t get around to signing any players. But Lomax is effectively ban from the NRL for three (?) years. Terms of his release was he couldn’t sign for another club during the term of Parramatta deal. Parramatta have most likely used that cap space already.

Just a means to ensure that the Eels are compensated when he signs for someone else.
Might be that he doesnt come back to the NRL and just takes some easy Japanese or French rugby money, but my bet is an NRL club will pay Parra a transfer feee/swap of players and Lomax will be playing NRL footy in 2026

Genuinely concerned for RL 'journalists' right now. What the f**k else are they gonna talk about?

They have been made to look the absolute clickbaits ##### that they are. Anybody researching this could see there were no venues, no fixtures, no teams, no social media, no reporting in Europe, no RU names linked yet they went on and on and on. Just look back at some of the stories and podcasts, shameful from these so-called professionals.

So can we have an investigation on Payne Haas and his $3m contract he was ready to sign?? A made up story and a made up figure. Who would have thought PVL cornflake box comments would turn out to be the most sensible lol?

Lomax just splashed out four million on a beach front pad in the gong

Wonder whose going to foot that bill now

Union journos and fans know they dodged a bullet whilst league journos and managers will be devastated
Dragons will pay eels a million for a release fee and offer lomax $1.2m a year for as long as he wants.

It is really embarrassing to see how many people fell for this idea in Australia. This comp NEVER had legs. Outside Australia, the comp got very little coverage and was not taken seriously. The league journos have really gone to town with this comp in an embarrassing level. I would think Clinton Schifcofske comes out of this looking horrible as a player manager.

A person I know was dead set certain this comp was going to take over. Normally chats his ass off all day.....very much radio silence from him tonight....haha.

More like R180 😂

Anyone who thinks that PvL was wrong to issue the ban threat has rocks for brains. It's killed R180 in it's tracks.

Haha R180 I like that.

What a bunch of schmucks. Announcing this crap then delaying. Do they care at all? What do the players involved do next? They didn't leave to take a 2 year holiday.

We've got two notable star players in limbo and who knows about the others they have signed. The guys running R180 are total wankers.

R360 will spend the next 12 months trying to get alignment/partnership with the rugby union hierarchy, and get it as a sanctioned invent in the RU calendar.
This is a great outcome for NRL, as even if it does come back in 12/18months time, players will now be very sceptical about considering it (if they weren’t already).
Paps and Lomax have walked out on big money contracts and the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow now ain’t there.
I could see Lomax rocking up at the Storm or Roosters for 12-months.

And another real positive for the NRL, it now essentially gives the NRL 2 years of continued growth without this threat - in 2 years time there’ll be a new broadcast deal, salary cap will be higher, and really importantly, it gives PVL 2 years to steal and improve their concept (global round) and actually deliver it.
The NRL will be even stronger in 2 years, which will make it even harder for R360 to make any sort of dent.
