It seems they had a four team comp going in 1981.

That's an interesting read. If you scroll through all the pages, there's a mention of the American "All Star" tour of Australia in there too.

Too bad Steve Prefontaine wasn't around in 81 to see RL played in his home state.

That's the league I mentioned in the US history thread. A damn shame that it never developed any further.
