It seems the Bulldogs are by far the best team in the last 25 years we have played in 10 Grand Finals and won 6 of them great stuff, and its only going to keep getting better. GO THE BULLDOGS!!

Prior to 1954, many premierships were simply first past the post as oppose to a Grand Final.

Can you re-do it with only Grand Final wins?

Premiership stats also include unusual situations such as the Roosters being awarded the 1937 premiership with only 6 wins for the season.
(The NSWRL heirarchy decided to abandon the season and awarded the premiership to the then front runners. I wonder if Politis grand father was on the board at the time. lol)

By far the best team? What about the Broncos? It pains me to say it, but they've only been in the comp since 89 and have won 5 premierships and have never lost a GF! I'd say they're be a more successful team than the bulldogs in the time they've been in the comp.

well since the Broncos only came into the comp in 1988 i will agree and say that over a 25 yr period the Dogs have been the best team.
HOWEVER...if that is broken down to the yrs 1988-2004 then the Broncos are a clear leader as far as best team.

Brisbane 5 GFs (plus...only missed 2 semis since 1988)
Canterbury 3 GFs
Canberra 3 GFs
Panthers 2 GFs
Newcastle 2 GFs

then there a few teams with 1 GF.

Far out I must have missed a couple. Oh you must be including the 2005, and 2006 seasons as well. 8)

How many do the Dragons have if you exclude those Grand Finals which were referreed by known game fixer Darcy Lawler?

He was not allowed to ref another GF after the '63 debacle.

6 isn't it?

I think the best date to start the count would be the year they introduced the 6 tackle rule. Before that, rugby league was a totally different game. That would leave Canterbury, Manly and Brisbane as the top 3 wouldnt it?

South have actually won 9 grand finals and won 11 non grand finals(pretty sure thats right). 20 premierships either way.

since GFS came into existence in 1954 souths have won :
1954
1955
1967
1968
1970
1971

i was no maths genius, but to me that equals 6 GF wins...not 9. I know my league history.
