???

Sadly I think the trailer is one of those that gives the entire movie away. Looks like Friday Night Lights mixed with a little bit of The Longest Yard.

Oh noes!! Teen Emo boy with immense talent wants to do his own thing and buck against the authority figures in his life. Does something that gets him locked up and matures by being forced to do things he doesn't want to. Eventually he accepts his dad and realizes he did everything out of love (when the only twist of the movie probably not in the trailer happens) when he dies.

All the players look really small and/or fat.

Only PG-13 so no nudity... That would have been its only redeeming quality.

I refuse to see a movie where there is a bunch of white American's doing the haka..
This movie will give rugby a bad name..

One of the best English movies of all time is 'This sporting life' - a movie about a young guy failing to deal with being a Rugby League star in the north of England. The crowd scenes are fantastic - 40 or 50 thousand people packed into grounds that would now hold 20k maybe.

An Australian movie from last year 'The final winter' is about playing RL in Sydney in the 1970s - the story is a bit lame, but they mix some great simulated game play with some real footage of some of the hardest men to ever play the game. It's worth watching for just the archival footage that makes up at least 10 minutes of the film.

LOL, I seen more big hits, shoulder charges, running with the ball and less kicking in that Union clip than the whole time I have watched that pathetic sport.

Talk about a suped up version, but that's just typical of union, it's all BS and talk, they could never actually put that on the field, they'd need Rugby league to do that.

That's a must watch old film for any league fan.

Haven't seen The Final Winter yet. Will have to look out for it.

The story line was cold in This sporting life, very different to what I thought it would be, loved it, the bird in that movie, well what can you say?

The opening was pretty cool, made the hairs stand up on the back of the neck.
