Rule changes and how the rules are interpreated are bringing into disrepute

I maintain that 6 agains only be awarded in the attacking 3rd of the field to provide the advantage to the attacking team that is being stifled by the defending team. A penalty to be given in the other 2/3rds of the field to enable a kick and field position to ensue. The usual suspect teams have worked out how to bend the rule by continually being offside in defence knowing they will get pinged only occasionally.

Agree & the usual suspects know that they’ll get a caution when they’ve done too many & back off.

It looks like the NRL Innovation Committee headed by Wayne Pearce will be discussing another possible rule change involving kicking into touch on purpose to enable teams to reset and organise themselves and gain some time to "rest" and to slow the game down. Pearce is suggesting that other than being forced into touch or running into touch by trying to score, a kick into touch should give the opposition 7 tackles and act as a disincentive to any team kicking out into touch on purpose.

I read the article. Welch makes a lot more sense than Pearce to my mind. Just leave the rules alone for a while!

Seriously, WTF is wrong with these clowns ? Make the game even faster ? 7 tackle sets, repeat 6 agains ? Its becoming unwatchable.

Leave the game alone.

If you want to speed these parts of the game How about the refs been made to take control of the game and penalise teams for deliberate slowing down Tactics
