Rumor: McFadden out, Cleary back to Warriors

Actually I have a feeling the Hoffman blow up was the Tigers try before we responded with two of our own......maybe I'm imagining it.

Vete I'm not completely sold on. Goes all out in attack, but defensively I have my concerns. I don't think it's an attitude thing though, just rather something he needs to work harder on.

Gubb tries his ass off, but he can be summed up in two words now "shoulder charge".

Kata/Lolohea try but have been thrown into the deep end without a life jacket.

There's way too many holes to plug when you're forced to play Ikahihifo/Lousi/Hurrell and expect a bunch of rookies to carry their attitudes.

Also, good luck to Dragons fans if Havilli's effort on periscope this morning was anything to go by. Sadly it's a perfect reflection on some of the issues our club has, especially with home grown players who remain in their comfort zone after being signed to play first grade.

This spine isn't that far behind. Ivan will finish what he started here, only injuries held us back this year.

Please do continue to tell us how the spine ( shuffled and unproven ) of a wooden spoon contender in 2015 is almost as good as 3/4 of the New Zealand test spine, you know the current best test nation. It'll be interesting to see you try and justify stupid.

DWZ is an over rated winger who has achieved nothing at NRL level.
MOYLAN is quite simply the greatest myth in the game.
SOWARD had his ok season a couple of years ago, he won't perform again.
SEGEYARO is injured half the time and ineffective the other half. Another myth

Don't get me started on your ALDI forward pack.

If you guys want another chance at finals footy how about you recruit a real forward with skill and experience from a proper footy club, worked well enough for you last time. Oh wait, Trent Merrin is coming to save the day.

Matt Johns......the dope who guaranteed Bellamy would not re-sign at the Storm and would go to either the Warriors, Dragons or Roosters.

ZERO chance of this happening for 2016, Cleary moved back to Oz as his kids were approaching secondary school - why the f**k would he move them back to NZ now that they are halfway through it?

Johns needs to stop.

I wouldn't blame them. I wonder how SJ and Manu are feeling watching it from the sidelines.
Manu doesn't give a F. check his twitter account to see what he was doing when the game was on. SPOLER: he was at the movies

...there's a fair bit that needs fixing...
There's only one thing that needs fixing at the Warriors and its not the coach. It's Shaun Johnson.

Keep him healthy, have a good season. If he gets injured, have an ordinary to shit season. The evidence is incontrovertible.

As someone said the other day of the Roosters, I could coach them while simultaneously unloading into a sock, as long as Johnson is healthy.

At the start of the year, I would have guessed the following XVII would take the field...

1 Tomkins - played about 8-9 games this year, absolute ponce
2 Fisiiahi - been injured most of the year, his understudy Fusitua was also out injured for pretty much all the year
3 Hurrell - ate a bovine, again
4 Laumape - didn't play this season due to injury
5 Vatuvei - injured now
6 Townsend - injured now
7 Johnson - season ending injury
8 Lillyman - injured now
9 Friend
10 Matulino - just had a 3 week suspension
11 Thompson - had a few weeks off recently with injury
12 Hoffman - missed about 5 weeks with injury recently
13 Mannering

Leuluai - season ending injury
Henry - season ending injury
Rapira - injured for extended periods
Lisone

When you consider they've had Lolohea play every game except for 1, Kata play every game, Vete play just about every game, Gubb play a fair portion of the back end of the year... its been an unmitigated disaster in terms of injuries.

What I will say is there are a number of terrible trends going on as well. The defensive line has stopped moving up for example. Coaching Johnson earlier in the year to keep within a structure on one side of the field and allowing Townsend to be the playmaker often in the opposition 20m zone... there's been some head scratchers from McFadden.

One minute I want him gone, but up to the injuries reached epidemic stage, he had a good record developing. Hard to appraise, and I dare say Doyle will see discretion as the better part of valour and give McFadden until about round 8 to get it going. Culturally there are a lot of elements not right, for the past 4 years the team goes terribly in the first 10 rounds, booms it during Origin, and then dies at the tail end of the season. Somethings not right, but I don't know if its JUST McFadden and whether even Cleary can sort it out.
