Obviously new to the game, or zero understanding. if I put in a laughing face it adds credibility, riiiight ?

Moylan is so good - That he was a speed bump in city vs country.

Moylan is gonna be such a good 5/8 and DWZ is gonna be such a good FB - That Peter Wallace is still first choice half and captain.

Mythlan is shit.

The amount of injuries Penrith have sustained can't just be down to bad luck. I can only imagine their recovery and preparation is not up to scratch.

Without doubt. Yet some fans think it's just bad luck.

Someone somewhere is not up to par. You can't consistently get so many serious injuries to so many players without it being in part your own fault.

One season with a few bad injuries is bad luck. Every season with half a dozen or more serious injuries is something more.

He had a broken hand and dislocated fingers that he played on with in that game and continued to play on with for the Panthers before his ankle injury.

i would imagine that removes a lot of strength and makes tackling a little awkward.

Both teams have sucked this year largely ( not entirely but largely) due to injury.

This is the most injury savaged warriors side in history. I don't think a coaching combo of Bennett and Hasler could have turned us around. We just have to write it off and again, for the twentieth f**king time... Say 'next year is our year'.

I am a fan of Cleary (though I think he is talked up a bit too much at times) and I am dissatisfied with McFadden. However, I think we have to honour his contract (which was ludicrously extended- the sort of characteristic premature ejaculation we associate with Scurrah) if we are ever to land a decent coach.

Hopefully the leadership of Doyle, our big signings for next year and a bit of luck will bode well for us.

The pre-jack on McFadden was outrageous. I can only imagine it was Scurrah who signed off on it.

I haven't read the rest of the thread but we can still bag Cleary for 2017 yes?

Yeah because them players played together this year.

Take out Hunt and Milford for Brisbane and where would they be ?

With Ash Taylor and Jayden Nikorima playing first grade for us instead of the Titans and Roosters probably.

care to dispute

DWZ - Unproven at fullback
Moylan - Unproven at 6
Soward - Plays a one good season every 3 or 4 years.
Seg - Good yes, injured often and not as good as Luke.

is nowhere near RTS, Lolohea, Johnson and Luke.

I'm on the Cleary bandwagon. He hasnt had anything to work with at Penrith this year, and last year, he was one game off from the Finals, so as far as credentials go, he's far stronger than Cappy.

On Cappy, I'd still like him to stay at the club. I think he has good qualities as an assistant, but doubt he would eat humble pie and fall back into such a role. This hasnt been his year, and last year wasnt either. Tough breaks, but thats the hand you're dealt with so better deal with it as best you can.

Whatever happen to Matty Elliot? again, while he's not head coach material, he also has good qualities that the club could use (out of the box thinking, communication and marketing would be his qualities).

The club could really do with a good fitness trainer as well. A decent dietian who gets results would help.....

If Cleary goes, he goes. I imagine Brennan will get the gig and power to him. Will be interesting at least.

you seriously have to question the Panthers techniques when they have soooo many injuries a few years in a row. Are they rushing these guys back early, are they not doing proper rehab, are they training them to hard while injured.... if the same thing happens next year it's definitely not bad luck or whatever you want to call it. 1 year of it is unlucky, 2 years in a row and you have to start wondering what they are doing, 3 years and something is definitely not right.

Well Soward missed half the season with back problems that he had last year. Could have had surgery in the off season but instead has it after it got worse in the regular season.

Probably alot of cases like this. Putting off surgeries, playing before fully fit, having poor training and conditioning staff and medical staff. It's definitely not just bad luck. But apparently Gus thinks it is. As do some fans. But no way one club can have such a huge share of the bad luck each year. They would be contributing to it somehow.

They would have to be contributing some how to the problem. When fit it's a top 8 side, and with rabble like the Dragons making the 8 this year, you would think mostly fit they would have made it.

If Cleary goes it might have something to do with our consistently high injury toll. What can you expect to achieve when your side is getting constantly reamed by the injury ghost? He might just be sick of it.

I hated the way Gus tried to shove Moylan down our throats early this year but he is a super player and would have made the Panthers a hell of a lot more competitive had he been fit. He is a deadset Darren Lockyer clone.
