The man has confirmed it, 2yrs. Hope the boys can send him out on a good note.

Edit - to clarify (given the link isnt immediately obvious) 'the man' being RTS, not Niukore lol
On ya, Rog. You'll carve up over there.

And taking the opportunity to travel England and Europe while getting paid to play footy isn't a bad way to end a career, either

Sounds like he's taking the family to Europe for the adventure of it, not just for the cash (I imagine he would have got better in the NRL?). So I reckon that's cool, good luck to him.

Good news with RTS leaving. A big tall winger about to hit his prime!!
At 29 (when he joins us) he seems a bit old actually. John Kirwan was that age when he was dumped from the All Blacks and he was considered past his prime. Nevertheless, he signed with us the following year in '95. He did alright but he wasn't the John Kirwan of old.

(I'm aware he scored four tries last weekend so I know he's good, real good).

I think 29,30,31 are fine in terms of age to be playing high level league in this day and age, with nutrition and physio advances compared to 20 years ago.

Have you been to Wakefield? To be fair, not many people would have. There are worse places in the RL area, Arrrr not that adventurous.

Ha no I haven't. Been to Bradford, that's about it in the north.

Easy commute to the best that Europe has to offer, good on him. It would have been easy to take a reasonably lucrative contract in the NRL, I am certain the Wakefield one wasn't the biggest $ offer

Apparently Timoko was offered/shopped/his manager came to us, but we rejected him as we continue to pursue Grant Anderson

From what I've seen of him, Timoko is another 'can score a try, can't defend' type that we've made a history of running out

When we're not running out second rowers of course.

By the time (if ever) we secure or somehow create top notch centers we will have a massive hole somewhere else in our roster...

I wonder if there is any truth to the rumour that Webster is searching TradeMe for parachutes?
