rumour - Jason Clark

i have heard a rumour that the Dragons are negotiating with this guy for next season. Anyone else heard anything? Thoughts on him as a player?

i havent seen much of him, but from what i have seen would be a handy backup player, good footwork for a big guy. Obviously cant get a look in at the bunnies with the forwards they have.

Dude, no. All respects due. But no. We don't need handy back up players. Of our 25 man squad, about 18 or 19 of them are handy back up players. That's our problem. It is why we are second last. We need actual elite premiership players.

The Lurker today
Q: (@hotscotch6969) hearing Jason Clark signing with the Dragons?
The Lurker: He's definitely talking to them... not done deal yet as far as I know. Souths want to keep him.
Q: (@davidmasi52) Any news on the @dragons signing Scott Bolton #asklurk?
The Lurker: Again, they are talking to him - not sure deal is done. Unlikely they will sign both him and Clark - similar players

It's true. We have more "handy back-up players" than I care to remember. We need quality first graders.

We need Matalino.

he is like a Mick Crocker type of player.. no frills but solid in defence.
as someone else mentioned the word "handy" comes to mind, however he will probably take a bench spot.
not the type of player that will be the difference between coming 14th and a top 8 place.

Just what we need ,a Crocker type who is intimidating.DeBelin is the one player who can intimidate with his defence and we need more.

I wouldn't say "Crocker like". He doesn't have that mongrel in him.

More like a David Stagg. Will take two hit ups a set and tackle his nuts off, rarely missing one, but won't bend the line when he hits it and is not really aggressive at all.

Imo, he is a little too small for an NRL forward pack atm, but if he puts on a bit of bulk, he could develop into a very good backrow work horse. Will play 80 and make you 50 tackles per game if you let him.
